Property Description

Upscale and immaculate private apartment in a classic Hawaiian Plantation-style home in White Sands Beach Estates, a two minute walk from the White Sands (Magic Sands) Beach. Two large rooms, kitchenette, bath, and secluded outdoor lanai and fenced garden. This beautiful, tropical beach hideaway is also less than a mile from Kahaluu Beach Park and the best snorkeling on the Island. This is your ticket to paradise. Modern and well appointed, you'll feel surrounded by comfort and luxury in a neighborhood of fine homes with mature landscaping. One room is the master bedroom with a queen bed, wicker couch, flat screen TV, cable, A/C, complete kitchenette, and huge walk-in closet. The living room is bright and airy with multiple windows and two sets of sliding doors to the lanai. This room has well appointed modern teak furniture including a Thai twin sized Sofa/Bed, a dining table and chairs. A second flat screen “SMART” TV is provided here giving you access to the Internet and your Netflix account, etc. WiFi along with Bluetooth music system is included. You’ll have access to your own gas barbeque grill; there is also a large fridge and washer and dryer available. There is one bathroom with tub/shower which can be accessed from either room, and there's also an outdoor shower. Continental breakfast of island fruits, juices, nuts, and breads for toasting is provided each morning.

This property will surround you with a very private, tropical feeling with palm trees and tropical flowers abounding on the property as well as throughout the neighborhood.

This is a great place for a romantic getaway, singles, or for families. Sleeps up to 3 adults or 1-2 adults and 1-2 children.

We are Ironman and Athlete-friendly-and can provide secure garage storage space for bikes/sporting equipment, etc. Also, concierge services can be provided by arrangement (e.g., Airport Pickup for you and your bikes, orientation and transport to your race course, grocery shopping, errands that you can’t do while you are out training,) Just ask if you are interested in any such services.

The property is located one street behind Ali'i Drive by White Sands (also known as Magic Sands) Beach--Kona’s Boogie Boarding Beach with bathrooms, showers, volleyball court, and lifeguards. There is a path from the neighborhood down to the beach, so you can be there in two minutes! It is one mile from Kahaluu Beach Park and four miles from the 'original' town-site of Kailua-Kona. Two miles south, you'll find the Keahou community with shopping, restaurants, movie theater, golfing, and a small boat harbor. There are 2 beach chairs, 2 Boogie Boards and a cooler available for your use during your stay.

Also..we have 2 Paddle boards with personal instruction available for a very reasonable fee.

Magic Sands B&B Away From the Madding Crowd

We enjoyed our stay at Magic Sands very much. The location was very good for our needs, with a sandy beach within easy walking distance. The street was very quiet on the weekends, but on weekdays, renovations next door pervaded the air with the sound of an electric saw. We were very tired when we arrived, and our hosts were non intrusive but always available if we needed their advice.  They told us about beautiful places to visit that were near by (we didn’t want to go far), as well as where to shop, and how to prepare abalone.  Everything we needed was at the facility - a refrigerator, washer and dryer, an outdoor grill, and kitchen equipment, dishes, pots, and what wasn’t provided, we could borrow from our hosts. We had wi-fi and a streaming TV to enjoy in roomy quarters.

We had an amazing stay. The hosts were very attentive and provided a beautiful breakfast every morning, gave us lots of insider travel tips, and had plenty of "beach amenities" available for rental or use. The property is located in a quiet location close to a beautiful beach and just a few miles from the center of Kona. The accommodations were immaculate and very spacious. I highly recommend this property!

Good Location, nice place, tasty breakfast, not the best hospitality

The accommodation itself was very nicely decorated, enjoyable, and roomy with a second room for additional people if needed. However, it is on the bottom floor so you will hear the owners and dogs walking around and going up and down the stairs (just 15 feet from your bed) and the garage door going up and down (7 feet from your bed) around at 6am or earlier (if you are an early riser then you might be fine with it, but if you are looking to sleep in and relax like we were then it isn't so nice). Worse was listening to yelling & chainsaws cutting down palm trees/trimming in the backyard (only 20 feet from our bed) for over an hour, starting around 8:30am, and the owner & workman walking right past the big bedroom window that only had a sheer see through curtain. The owner didn't warn/tell us that he was going to do this, or wait until a later time, or even apologize for the inconvenience and long noisy disruption. We were further disappointed because, the listing boasts that tiki torches will light our way each night, and 2 out of the 3 nights we were there, including our Wedding Anniversary night, we were left in complete darkness, no tiki torches lit for us and not even a garage light on to find our way to the door after going to dinner.

The location is great, a short walk to Magic sands beach and the back yard is a beautiful place to eat the yummy breakfast (when the chainsaws weren't going). We really enjoyed the fresh fruit, juice, and banana bread left for us each morning. The hosts were nice, provided some directions, and allowed us use of beach towels, chairs, and ice chest which came in handy. This place had the possibility to be a great stay for us, we just needed ear plugs, flashlight, and a window shade.

Owner's Response: Aloha Kristine, we are so sorry about the noise that started at 10am. One of the palms fell overnight onto the electric wires and we thought it best that it be removed as soon as possible for everyone's safety. We really thought you two were out and about since the breakfast dishes were empty and left in the fridge. So sorry for any inconvenience for that. I'm sure, since you live on Oahu, you can understand how weather can happen on the islands. We hope you can forgive any issues that you had, as all could have been addressed with a text to either Robert or me. We hope you will visit again so we can do better for you. Sincerely, Stella
