About Kalin Harvard
We are a Texas family hailing from Midland. We love to eat, drink, and travel. We love family trips where we can come together, but with enough space to breathe as individuals or couples. We have an extensive history in Ruidoso at Ski Apache and Win Place & Show. We love the feel of an intimate mountain town and all it has to offer. We are golfers, we are hikers, we are horseback riders, we are skiers, we are snowboarders, we are fine diners, we are wine lovers, we are burgers and beers....above all we are family and enjoy the feeling and comforts of home even when we travel. This little log cabin was selected and furnished with these ends in mind. When you've spent the day with cold air and excitement rushing past your cheeks in equal parts, it's nice to kick off your shoes and fall face first into the comforts of home. From the wood stove, sofas, and satellite tv, to the hot tub and warm beds, our cabin says, "Welcome home to Ruidoso!"

We had a fantastic time and loved the cabin! Highly recommend!
Very nice Ruidoso property. As described
This property is very roomy, clean and as described. We had vehicle issues on the very first morning but were close enough to walk downtown for breakfast and shopping. As the hot tub temp is turned down upon arrival, it recovered to full temp in just a few hours.
The master bed has a comfortable mattress. Mountain or antique furnishings thruout.
I must agree with the other 4-5 star ratings.
Great cozy place!!
We went on our anniversary and the sent balloons and champagne!! That was so nice we have never had they happen before. Thank you guys so much for a great weekend!
Super clean cabin and so comfy. Great location! Only a few blocks to boutiques & great food
Cabin was super clean upon arrival. Beds were so comfy so we were able to get some much needed rest. Cabin is beautiful and the location is great! Only a few blocks from all the boutiques on Sudderth for some shopping and great food and wine tasting. Backyard fenced in area was great for our pup ( he loved it ) and it was nice to hangout back with family and friends in the evenings. Everything about this rental was perfect! Will be staying again for sure next time we are in town.
This cabin is fabulous!
The cabin is beautiful and very well cared for. Open concept, spacious rooms, great kitchen - comfortable all the way around! This is the best place we’ve stayed here!
Comfortable Clean Cabin
Property was exactly as represented on VRBO. We were pleased to find that it was also very clean. Our two families were very comfortable and pleased with this cabin. Fenced in yard was a big help. Enjoyed sitting out on the patio table and also on the front porch.
Two Thumbs UP!
Welcome to the Village of Ruidoso!! From our centrally located home there is no limit to the number of wonderful activities in any direction. Bundle up the kids and head to Ski Apache atop Sierra Blanca Mountain to ski, snowboard, snow tube, and zip line at 13,000 ft. We always stop at Log Cabin for breakfast along the way, and either bring a cooler of healthy snacks or have an Apache burger on the mountain for lunch. There's also a bar for the adults after the last run of the day, and then we head down to Casa Blanca for New Mexican cuisine and margaritas! Finish it off with a soak in our hot tub while the kids watch a movie on our satellite tv in front of the wood burning stove. The Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino is ten minutes from the house. We reserve a table at the resort's Wendell's restaurant (try the elk tenderloin, it's delicious!), arrive a bit early to watch the sun set over the lake and sip a drink in the bar, and, if we're feeling lucky, hit the casino for a bit on the way out. There is also a great buffet, and if you time it right, great bands to see as well. A short drive to Ruidoso Downs brings you to the Ruidoso Downs Racetrack and Billy the Kid Casino. There's nothing like feeling the breeze on your face as you see, hear, and feel the thunder of horses racing past, your heart pounding in step with the hooves, and your hopes as high as the peaks in the background. Get a table at the jockey club for a bird's eye view or crowd the fence on the ground to feel the vibrations, but get to the races for a winning experience. Downtown Ruidoso is right around the corner filled with art, food, drink, and New Mexican mountain charm. Shop for everything from fine art to doggie sweaters, but don't forget to stop in to the wineries in between. At the Noisy Water Winery, we love the hatch chili wine (seriously) served cool as a refresher on a hot summer day. The Village Buttery is great home cooking with mouth watering specials served just for lunch. We also like Dreamcatcher's, Chef Shawn's Eatery (pulled pork and beans), Flame Burger (burgers and tacos), Tina's Cafe (chicken tamales), Cornerstone Bakery (breakfast and lunch), and Cafe Rio (pizza). For dinner call ahead to Michael J's for tasty Italian food. Those are some of our favorites, but by no means all, of Ruidoso's local eateries. If you still have the energy to drink and dance, check out Win Place & Show, and carry on till they carry you out! Day trip to experience the wild west in Lincoln County at The Lincoln County Historic Site, the town where Billy the Kid made his daring escape from jail, and into legend. Or head to White Sands New Mexico to see where the first atomic blast happened and survey a unique geological feature. Hiking abounds in the area, and a google search will surely set you off in the right direction. We favor Bonita Canyon, but there is no shortage of scenic trails in and around Ruidoso. Welcome to Ruidoso, New Mexico.
