About Lawrence Boothby
I'm a Native of Maine and moved to Nashville in 1979 to work in the Film and Television Industry. My profession as a cinematographer and director of photography has provided me the opportunity for international travel as well as working all the great legends of country music. Recently married, my wife and I enjoy caring for our guest in our VRBO properties and traveling to others VRBO's around the country.
Lawrence Boothby purchased this House in 1994
Why Lawrence Boothby chose Hillsboro Village
I love this location. I have lived in this area since my move to Nashville and have found the location to be so central to everything you could want to do in Music City. The neighborhood is quaint and I love the people. My most relaxing place to be is on the 24ft. x 24ft. back deck. It is spacious and I enjoy the privacy of trees. It attracts a lot of birds and bunnies to my back yard. I love to walk into Hillsboro Village for morning coffee and pastries for breakfast or enjoy a movie at the Belcourt Theatre. The house is minutes from the Best Restaurants Nashville has to offer, whether in the Gulch, West End, 12th Ave So, or Elliston area. The Ryman Auditorium, Frist Museum, Union Station, Lower Broad and the Parthanon are just a couple minutes away as well as I-40, I-65 and I-440. The property is only 15 minutes from the Airport.
What makes this House unique
Walking distance to Vandy Stadium or Belmont University Campus. Only 0.06 miles to Hillsboro Village for shopping, lunch or just hanging out at Fido's Coffee Shop. 0.05 miles to 12 South restaurant & bar neighborhood. The Gulch, known to be a trendy and hip neighborhood, and a popular destination for locals, college students, and visitors alike is 2 miles.

The house was in a good location, and fairly centered for most Nashville attractions. The owner was quick to book the site. However, renter should be aware this is a shared space. There is an apartment upstairs with a permanent tenant, as well as a basement that the owner accesses for personal use. There is one bathroom with tepid water, and the soaking tub didn't function properly. Also, a long haired white cat lives in the space when not rented out..so, don't stay there if cat dander poses a problem for you.
Yes, the house is in a good location. The description of this VRBO rental space is very clear as to what rooms are included with the property when rented, which is the entire main floor of the home. There is no mention of a basement being provided to a guest. There is no access for guests into the basement area because that is where I keep all my personal belongings. There is a single tenant living in the apartment above (with exterior access) who is very quiet and has never disturbed me or any other VRBO guests. The soaking/jetted tub is an 80 gallon tub. The 80 gallon hot water heater dedicated to the main floor only is less than a year old and supplies 120 degree water. When you fill the tub to capacity using all 80 gallons of hot water, you must give the water heater time to reheat before taking a shower or doing dishes. I personally check the tub before each rental to ensure it is working properly. There are detailed instructions explaining how it works next to the tub. I'm sorry this guest found what she thought was a cat hair. There has never been any cats in this home. The "long white cat hair" was from a previous guest who had brought in a white dog without telling me. Some people you just can't trust to follow the rules. No pets are allowed for obvious reasons. I take pride in my work ethic and clean the home top to bottom every time a guest leaves. Just look at the past reviews and the comments about the cleanliness of the home. THAT is what I strive for every time a guest checks out. It actually pains me that this guest found a white dog hair. I also pride myself on communicating with my guests and encourage them to notify me at any time, day or night, if they have a question or concern. I did not hear from this guest about any of these "problems" until well after they had checked out. There are those who will never be pleased. But, I'll keep doing my very best.
Lawrence was a great host. Promptly replied to any questions we had and was very accommodating
