Do you have a "Mrs. Astor" in your life or maybe it's You who has exquisite taste and does not fare well with compromise. Looking for privacy & relaxation while in the lap of luxury, then no need to look any further as this amazing property raises the bar! The Highlands Inn is nestled in the cliffs over looking Point Lobos & Yankee Point both part of the Big Sur Coastline. Throughout the 'one of a kind' property there are 3 large Jacuzzi hot tubs, Fire Pits, a larger heated swimming pool, a 1st class exercise facility, just to name the few. All points of interest are tucked among meticulous landscaping, such as massive pines, wild flowers, and small running waterfalls along lit paths. This combination allows for privacy throughout the entire property. But it doesn't stop there. You must try an infused cocktail at the Sunset Lounge before entering The Pacific Edge Restaurant, which is renowned for its panoramic views of the Big Sur Coastline (Voted top 10 Best views in US). It offers some of the finest cuisine and a very extensive wine list. Furthermore, the service is fantastic. The team of professionals will do whatever it takes to make your entire stay memorable. Whether you are calling in an order for cocktails and s'mores while sitting by the fire pit 'adirondack style' or you choose to enjoy an intimate dinner in your suite next to your own crackling fire, (which is cleaned, rebuilt, & replenished daily), you will feel like an "Astor." The one bedroom Ocean-view Suite has been completely remodeled offering all the amenities desired such as a kitchenette with granite, stainless, coffee/espresso maker, amongst many other amenities throughout. Take note that the living room sleeper sofa folds out into a Queen size bed. There are Parlor doors that separate the bedroom suite from the living room area for privacy.. What makes this so special is the absolutely cozy feel that embraces you while taking in the majestic views of the Big Sur Coast! Specifically the view of Point Lobos from the large private balcony or if you prefer, you can simply savor the same view while relaxing on the new California king bed. Or you can always relish that view while easing into a bubble bath in the large Jacuzzi tub, plenty of room for two! While lounging on the sofa be sure to watch the pebble beach consours d'ellegance on the new large plasma TV. Although there are countless things to experience in this majestic area, this is a World-class event, which draws the most elite auto enthusiasts from around the world. So don't forget your derby hats! If you choose this opportunity, I hope that this time rejuvenates your mind and soul like it has for me, my favorite place, Carmel by the Sea. . .

Why Mark chose Carmel Highlands
It is absolutely spectacular and truly stunning. The very first time I stayed at highlands, I immediately felt at home. The staff was acceptional and truly made our stay so memorable that the morning of our departure, we went ahead and purchased. I challenge anyone to find a place that is as unique, luxurious and hidden as the Highlands Inn. It has the most meticulously maintained and lush grounds with flowers and waterfalls following the walking paths. Private hot tubs nestled in the wooded landscape. A beautiful outdoor heated swimming pool. And fire pits to enjoy the cool mountain night air and star-gazing. Three designated spa treatment areas. A great workout facility. The restaurant, lounge, and the common area above the lobby have the best panoramic view of the Pacific coastline I've found. If you want to venture out there are Countless places and things to do such as Point Lobos State Park, less than 2 miles away. But if you are there for some R&R you never have to leave the resort. Relax on your private balcony and enjoy bird, seal and whale watching over the pacific or just relax and read a book with a cup of coffee or wine;) Followed by a first class dining experience while watching the sun set at the award winning Highland's "Pacific Edge" Restaurant. Afterwards make your way upstairs to the lounge area offering extended panoramic views while listening to always fabulous jazz & piano ensembles and enjoying an after dinner drink with majestic burning fireplaces to keep you cozy in the Sunset Lounge. The possibilities are endless..!

You should pat yourself on the back and have NO doubts, you made a Fantastic decision! You couldn't have chosen a better location! You have the privacy of the view of point Lobos State Pk & the Pacific Ocean from your suite. Within 10 minutes you arrive at The Crossroads & adjacent The Barnyard. Both offer countless choices of fabulous cafés, bars, ethnic restaurants, boutique shopping, flourist, weekly events & activites, grocery, pharmacy, beer & specialty wine & liqour shops and so much more! Continuing from The Crossroads leads you to Carmel Valley Road into the beautiful Carmel Valley area. There are countless places to see along the scenic drive heading into Carmel Valley Village ie. (Folktale Winery~ the outdoor seating & flower gardens makes it one of my favs). So if something catches your eye, stop and more than like you likely you will Not be disappointed! The area boasts of amazing wineries, with very unique wine tasting rooms; many offering incredible dining options surrounded by lush garedens and mountain views. Nestled in town are many specialty stores, shopping, golfing & spas (Carmel Valley Ranch, Wow) and endless mountain top hiking trails, scenic tours and drives. The village is cozy but yet diverse. A must see! If you want to experience this ocean rather than the mountains then you will head into downtown Carmel by the sea which is less than 15 mins from Highlands Inn. The Majestic Beachs offer you views all the way to Pebble Beach and Monterey. The original cobblestone streets, historic homes, and mystical cottages make you feel you are among fairies and elves. You must experience the intrigue first hand via the scenic drive or take a leisurely stroll through all the nooks & crannies, twists & turns. All make Carmel-by -the- sea one of the most unique, magical, and romantic places on earth! There are far too many to die for boutiques, Jewelry Store's, outside cafés and bars, incredible must try restaurants. Lastly I would be doing you an injustice if I did not mention the beautiful and magnificent Pebble Beach area with 17 mile drive. This encompasses other world class golf courses such as a Spanish Bay, Spyglass, and Cypress Point. There is nothing like sitting outside on the patio of Spanish Bay, on a Sunday afternoon, with the fire pits blazing and a glass of wine in hand watching the famous bagpiper make his way through the 18th green and play at the top of the hill for your leisurely pleasure. Just beyond that you fall into other incredibly beautiful areas such as Monterey Bay, Pacific Grove, and Seaside. All of which offer their own uniqueness which draws tourists from all over the world for countless reasons such as the world renowned Monterey Bay aquarium, the famous Cannery Row, world class fishing charters, whale watching, boating, kayaking, biking, live entertainment, endless possibilities!
