I love the North Shore!!
It was our second stay here for a month each time. Great place with all the comforts of home!! Mahalo!
This was our first trip to the islands and it was a great stay. The condo was clean and well appropriated and nothing was out of place. The location was great for beaches, hikes, and going to my brothers wedding. I definitely would stay again if Nancy would have me.
Great place to stay! Everything we needed was available plus some!
Great location for us! Condo had everything we needed plus some! Special touches like welcome coffee, water, chocolates plus there were beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards all for us to use while there. Might be a little noisy for some being right off the Hana hwy but there were fans available and with those on it helped drown out any traffic noise and it really didn’t bother us! Comfy beds too!
Great place to stay for north shore activities
Convenient location for doing the road to Hana and particularly if you want to do some surfing. Just minutes from Paia for local food and shopping.
Demolition during stay-12/21 to 1/1/18
We experienced 1 day of full demolition occurring in the unit above us. There were 2 previous days of light banging that we're ok. It took several texts before the owner was sympathetic. I was never offered anything due to the inconvenience of having to leave the condo. When I wished to relax at the condo I was told that most people leave 8 or 9 am and return 6-7 pm. I paid up front for a vacation space, that had no time specified on the usage. I paid for usage of a kitchen but had to eat out breakfast, lunch and dinner 1 day. We couldn't even enjoy the coffee due to the excessively loud noise let alone have a conversation. Due to the demolition we experienced roaches and water dripping from the ceiling onto our bed, the owner didn't seem too upset. We figured that the toilet bowl broke and water leaked through the floor, that's why it eventually stopped. By the time someone came to check on it, they said the water stopped but they didn't see anything. Luckily, I moved the bed before it was saturated. T he lack of concern for our comfort, safety, and health ( never asked if we'd like additional linens since the water leaked on the bed) was unacceptable. Her last remark was, dont let this take away from our time in Maui.if something goes wrong you will get no help or compensation, or even the suggestion to move someplace else until she sorted it out. I booked the unit for 11 days and have stayed at other VRBOs in the U.S and S.Korea. I have NEVER experienced such a lack of concern. She said that she was recovering from surgery and that she could stop by to do WHAT? If she were in that unit during demolition, she would have certainly left to go somewhere else. We didn't have that option.Shame on you Nancy!
Edith, thank you for your review. Although it is true that there was some construction noise in the condo above during your stay and there was a reported water leak my maint man and the property manager both went into the condo together and checked for leaks in the bedroom over the queen bed within an hour of the report. They found some dis-colorization over the bed on the window side up by the pillow, however there was no water coming from the ceiling or on the bed and the bedspread was not wet. When guest are in the condo I do not attempt to move anything since this is their private space, rather there was enough linen in the condo for at least two bed changes and there is an on site laundry room.
The property manager kept a close eye the front bedroom in #204 to see if there is in fact standing water or a water leak. This strange because all of the water is in the common wall between the bathroom & kitchen. There are no water sources in the bedroom and the construction workers are not using water to cool tools.
Since I recently had knee surgery it was tough getting, so when I offered to stop (with a surprise cash gift card) by the guest told me why bother. It this point the situation was just unfortunately very bad.
This situation is most unexpected and disturbing, I did apologize for the condo construction in #204, but the owner had his just show up and check in with the property manager this week and away they went working. Hotels and resorts plan out their remodeling and ensure guest are not booked into rooms/condos near construction. We at Kuau Plaza do not have that luxury, however the property manager does his best to minimize noise during daylight hours.
Nancy is a warm host with a cozy and beautiful condo. The kitchen was equipped with all the necessary amenities. The place was overall clean except for a few ants in the kitchen. The location of the condo is convenient especially if one is planning a trip to Hana. However, the proximity to the Hana highway makes it a little noisy at night. Overall experience was good.
Thank you so much for your kind review. We really enjoyed having you.Your cleanliness and communication we're top notch !
