About Kristin and Michael Dolen
We moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1994 for a more relaxed lifestyle in a beautiful setting. Our children were small at the time and it was a great family experience. We initially bought a home on acreage in the nearby town of Hansville and enjoyed our many animals while raising our kids. We relocated to Kingston, the next town over, to experience a more central location within walking distance to everything a small town has to offer.
Kristin and Michael Dolen purchased this Guest House in 2004
Why Kristin and Michael Dolen chose Kingston
Our location is perfect! We love being able to walk to the movies, restaurants, the bakery, or the ferry. We walk on the ferry and in 25 minutes are across the sound in the lovely seaside town of Edmonds. Numerous shops, restaurants, pubs, and another farmers market are just a few of our favorite things to do. We are minutes from great mountain biking trails and hikes which we both love to enjoy.
What makes this Guest House unique
The Unique thing about our property is the location. From the outside, we fell in love with the cape cod style and very central accessible location. Once your inside, you feel like you are miles away from the hustle and bustle. We can hear music in the park and events across the street. We can walk to the farmer's market down the street and also enjoy the concerts on Saturday nights at the marina. There are several coffee shops, pubs, and a wine bar in town. In December bundle up and enjoy the very festive Christmas light display with a walk down to the Marina.

This is, by far, the best rental we’ve reserved! The owners went above and beyond any expectation we might have. The clear directions and labels helped immensely. The quiet neighborhood and comfortable bed made us not want to leave. The kitchen and bathroom were equipped with everything we could have wanted. Thank you!
Thank you so much for the wonderful review and for taking the time to sign our guestbook. You were equally wonderful guests leaving our place very clean! Come back any time!!
Amazing set-up & wonderful weekend getaway!
We had an awesome trip ...thank u so much! The apartment was perfect with so many amenities—we really appreciated the washer & dryer w laundry soap and dryer sheets as we were in town for a wedding and then flying to the Caribbean for a week so no dirty clothes to start our second leg—super clean and neat...you guys really thought of everything—would stay again in a heartbeat:)
Great and really clean place with the perfect location.
Great guests! Come back any time!!!
Everything I imagined and more!
Absolutely perfect jump off point for a salmon derby.
Boated over from Edmonds, moored at Kingston Marina.
Less than 10 min walk from marina/ferry/shops/restaurants.
Very clean, quiet, convenient, and cozy.
I spent most of my stay on the water but relished the quiet and comfort of the place. A very rejuvenating solo weekend!
Owners were very accommodating and provided prompt answers to my inquiries and requests all while non-intrusive during my stay, I saw them a total of zero times.
I highly recommend!
Thank you Kristen and Michael!
Perfect getaway; great location, comfortable, and cute!
We’ve stayed here twice now. Absolutely wonderful place to stay when visiting Kingston. Nice views of the marina, easy to walk to shops and restaurants. Apartment is very nicely furnished and decorated.
Awesome little accomodation, had everything we needed for our stay.
It was great. Clean, comfy, had everything we could have needed.
Easy access, short walk to town. Easy access to all the other areas around, like Poulsbo, Port Angeles, Sequim. We will definitely come back if our travels take us to Washington again.
Short drives will take you to Bainbridge Island for more shopping, dining, and a 30 minute ferry ride to Seattle. The town of Hansville is only about 15 minutes away with beautiful scenic beaches and Point no Point lighthouse. Don't miss Port Gamble with it's shops and dining as well as canoe and kayak rentals about a 10 minute drive. Visit Poulsbo, "Little Norway" about 15 minutes away with great shops and numerous dining choices. Cross the beautiful Hood Canal Bridge to the Olympic Peninsula and visit Port Townsend a charming little town with additional beaches, shopping, dining, and ferry's to Anacortes Island. Hurricane Ridge for hiking in the summer or snowshoeing in the winter is a must see destination. Take a day trip to the San Juan Islands. The sightseeing, dining, shopping, and exploring or limitless.
