This home was built in the 1960's and is one of five "guest cottages" built by Ted Gary who developed the Clubhouse, Marina, and Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed Golf Course on Madeline Island. Located in a wooded setting directly behind the Clubhouse with views of the golf course and within walking distance to Town, this newly renovated home (July 2015) features two separate wings each with 2 bedrooms and bath (for a total of 4 bedrooms and 2 baths) that can be closed off for privacy from the central kitchen, living and porch areas. The "West Wing" bedrooms each have a queen sized bed and the "East Wing" bedrooms each have two twin sized beds. Two large decks accessible on either side of the 3 season porch have "peek-a-boo" views of the golf course and Marina.
The renovation was designed by well known Minneapolis Architectural firm TANEK and has a mid-century feel in character with its original design that includes tongue and groove planked vaulted and beamed ceiling throughout with plenty of skylights.
The Ikea Kitchen includes Bosch Dishwasher, Electrolux French Door refrigerator with ice maker, disposal, full size range and oven with overhead microwave vented through the ceiling. A pantry off the kitchen includes a stackable full size washer and dryer.
The large (300 sf) three season porch has wrap around windows with views of the woods and golf course and two comfortable sofas for lounging and a unique Swedish designed dining room table that seats 8 and can be opened up to seat 12 comfortable for entertaining.
With maintenance free living in mind, wood look-alike ceramic tile flooring was used in the main living areas and kitchen and industrial carpet squares installed in the bedrooms. The porch and bathrooms both have heated tile floors.
A wood burning fireplace in the living room adds coziness to the cool fall and spring evenings. High speed internet and TV included.
Available for weekly rentals in August and shorter periods in the fall and spring.
