Affordable luxury 4 bedroom property on 5 acres
About Anne Milton
Sean and Anne got together in 2008 and haven't looked back since! After their 'Seniors Gap Year' where they spent a year overseas doing 'wwoofing', housesitting and visiting over 20 countries, it was time to settle back into Australian life again! We have always been drawn to this area with it's great cultural mix of people, history and nature. After running businesses in Melbourne, we decided it was time to try out hospitality - just for a change!! We are both passionate about being as eco friendly as possible and after doing a straw bale workshop in Austria we really wanted to build with straw. As life is not a fairy tale (unfortunately!) we had to compromise and buy a stone house with land so first we extended the house to encompass an upper level with a steep pitch roof giving it character filled sloping ceilings. Next we pulled down the corrugated iron shed and erected a straw bale building adjacent to the stone property which comprises an Activities Studio, a beauty and massage treatment room and our own 2 bedroom residence. Sean is a glass artist as well as a previous life as a telecommunications engineer so he will be hosting glass art workshops this year as well as making works of art to sell. Anne is a registered nurse and a beauty and massage therapist as well as a keen cook so she is excited about putting all her skills together in one package! We are really looking forward to hosting groups of all kinds and making them very welcome. Come and explore this beautiful region!

Why Anne Milton chose Mount Franklin
After years of living in the city of Melbourne, both of us decided that we loved this part of Victoria. It had everything we liked - seasons, history, nature, and proximity to the arts and culture as well as great restaurants and wineries. Daylesford and Hepburn Springs is only 45 minutes from Ballarat, 50 minutes from Bendigo, 20 minutes from Castlemaine and 11/4 hours easy drive from Melbourne where we still go to the theatre and catch up with our Melbourne friends. This area has proved to be really friendly and welcoming to newcomers and we are so glad we made the move!
What makes this House unique
What drew us to this property was the stone building on 5 acres of land which had been partly landscaped by the previous owners. We thought that it had potential to add to what they had done and the position on the land is a lovely one. We adore the star filled skies and the amazing creatures - especially the beautiful birdlife!
