Mountain and River View Private Yurt Accommodations Nestled in the Forest
On the property are three individual yurts in a remote mountain setting with a main building that houses the common art studio/living area, and fully stocked kitchen. The private bathroom/shower for each yurt is in this main building. We're on 20 acres on a ridge overlooking a river valley with a mountain range at each end and miles of Forest Property behind. Quiet, serene, peaceful, star studded sky, rejuvenate, surrounded by nature outside and beautiful art inside. Hike, paint, rest, eat, relax.
This listing is for the Green yurt with 2 beds (1 single & 1 double) with a love seat. 3 guests max. Our other two VRBO/Homeaway listings are for the Purple yurt (furnished the same), and the Orange yurt with 3 beds (1 double bed, and 1 twin over twin bunk bed), plus a love seat (sleeps 4 max).
Your private space is your yurt, and one full bathroom in the main building. All guests have shared access to the common room, the fully stocked kitchen, and the property.
Each yurt has its own cast-iron propane heater/fireplace for heat, and has electricity. The main building has heat and air conditioning, and plenty of light for reading or socializing. There is a propane BBQ outside on the deck. The large main room doubles as an art studio for the resident artist and she offers many art supplies for guests to paint acrylic in plein air or watercolor at the studio table. The space is clean, modern and has all the amenities for a comfortable stay as we have retreats here all year. Also, there is a fire pit with plenty of wood, an amphitheater with a large stage for yoga and other activities, along with benches and trails around the property. The energy is divine!

Why Julie & Ed chose Sandpoint
The Sandpoint area is beautiful year 'round for lovers of nature. The area has so much to offer that it's hard to put in words. Close enough to the cities and far enough from the cities both at the same time!
What makes this Cabin unique
We are close enough to enjoy what the town of Sandpoint has to offer, but far enough to feel as if you are in the middle of the Alaskan wilderness.

Beautiful setting, clean comfortable accommodations!
What a treat it was to stay two nights at Ed and Julie's yurts!! The yurts are so cool, very clean, not to mention the wonderful common area, we highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in this area, really has everything you would need, but still gives you the feeling of being in the wilderness. Thanks Ed and Julie, hope to see you again soon!!
Thanks so much, we really enjoyed you and your family and hope you guys can come back. Thanks for leaving the place so PERFECT! :)
A wonderful getaway!!
Ed and Julie know what they are doing! I had a fabulous time, both staying in the yurt and hanging out in the common house. The kitchen was fully stocked and I was even gifted with fresh peaches each day. It was a lovely getaway and I would love to go back; maybe in the spring or fall!! Thank you Ed and Julie. You guys are the greatest!! ~ Holly
Holly, thank you! We feel the same, we really loved having you here and spending time with you. So considerate, you left the place as if you had already cleaned it! I SOO loved that you left a painting. It is beautiful and reflects your colorful self. Reminds me of the Impressionist Seurat, your use of colors and the style. And Holly, I am sorry that you felt uncomfortable when I was talking about astrology. One of the things we love about hosting guests is that we get to connect with and adore people from all different places, ways of thinking, beliefs and outlooks. Thank you for sharing. We both do hope you come back soon! Julie
A wonderful getaway
I loved staying here. I was very impressed with how clean, organized and meticulous this venue was. Ed and Julie were knowledgeable about the area and were very friendly to their guests.
I definitely would come back and stay here again.
So beautiful and special.
Julie and Ed have an amazing place to spend a quite and relaxing time away. This was the perfect experience for me and my daughters. It was magical for my young girls. So much better than a campsite or hotel. I was taking my girls (10 & 5) on a road trip with mostly camping however I booked these yurts for our first two nights. It had everything we needed for a relaxing stay after a long drive. My girls loved the wildlife, yurt, puppet show corner and the painting area. I loved the hikes, deck with a view for yoga, millions of stars at night and the swimming holes on Pack River.
Thanks so much Julie and Ed!! We loved it and hope to return!!
Thanks Jodi, we loved having you and your girls here and hope you come back and stay longer next time! It's the stuff childhood memories are made of! Julie and Ed
Quiet, peaceful and serene
We always wanted to stay in a yurt and our first experience was wonderful. Ed and Julie were great and do a fabulous job. The property was in a park like setting and lots of cute critters running around (squirrels and rabbits). The other visitors who stayed at the same time as us were awesome, and overall we had a great experience. Minus one star because the bathroom was a bit of a walk from the yurt, but the common area with bathrooms and kitchen were well stocked and had everything we could possibly need. Excellent experience, thanks Ed & Julie, we look forward to seeing you again!
Great for families
Beautiful location, friendly hosts and everything we needed for a wonderful visit to the Sandpoint area! Our 9 year old loved the puppets and the yurt experience!
We are 5 miles off the road to Canada (Banff, Creston, Nelson). Glacier National Park is about 3 1/2 hours drive. The Spokane airport is about 2 hours drive. We are about 1 1/2 hours drive north of Hwy 90 in Coeur d'Alene.
