Italian villa type stone cottage on waterfront. It's truly a breathtakingly beautiful spot. From the front of the house, there's a great view of the Thimble Islands. There's nothing more relaxing than to sit on the rocking chairs on the front porch, view the islands and watch the sunsets. There are many special spots to enjoy, the hammock overlooking the waterfront, the back steps of the house that connect the upper and lower gardens and the the porch off the lower floor of the cottage. The cottage has 2 bedrooms upstairs, an eat-in kitchen, and a large living room with a fireplace and a baby grand piano. Downstairs there is a bedroom and sitting room / office suite.

With 10F temps outside the cottage kept us warm and comfortable. Great fireplace in the living room and a good furnace. It was a nice stay over the holidays.
Matt and his family were excellent guests, very easy to communicate with and left the place in good shape. We'd love to have them back!
Perfect spot for a weekend getaway
The cottage was exactly what we were looking for. Nothing fancy in a beautiful location. We enjoyed our happy hours out on the deck watching the sun set over the water, which is something that is hard to find on the east coast!
A very special place
Perched over the water, the Stone House is a very special place - the house feels historic, and the house & grounds have been lovingly cared-for. Quiet and peaceful, the views of the Thimbles & sunsets are spectacular. Plus herons, egrets and kingfishers!
Sara and her family were wonderful guests. They were very easy and pleasant to communicate with and left the house in excellent condition. We'd be happy to have them back.
While the scenery was breathtaking, we found the home dirty and in disrepair.
The Stone Cottage is lovely in an absolutely beautiful setting!
We loved the home and the area. The owner was a pleasure to work with. Can't wait to go back!
We loved hosting Amber and her family and friends. They were great guests and we hope to have them back!
One of the best getaways of my life. The house is extremely cosy and right on the sea. We stayed for 3 nights and it was not at all enough.
Dany and his friends were great guests - very easy to communicate with and left the place in good shape. We hope to have them back!
The house is on the end of a private road in Stony, Creek, CT. Stony is a very charming little town. It has the ambience of a small seaside village. The town has many attractions... the Thimble Islands, the Stony Creek Puppet House, the Stony Creek Museum, town docks with boat launch (narrated cruise giving the history of the islands depart hourly), playground and public library. Stony Creek is 15 minutes away from New Haven. House would be an ideal spot to stay for parents weekends/homecomings/graduations of Yale University.
