I love to travel and as a teacher for many years as soon as school was out, so was I! I traveled in Europe, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Italy, Denmark,Armenia, Switzerland, Germany as well as our own marvelous, US! So when I have traveled I preferred to stay in a home if possible so HOMEAWAY became a favorite for my family and myself as soon as it began.
Jennifer purchased this Chateau / Country House in 13
Why Jennifer chose Weaverville
This is located in the much desired mountainous region of Western North Carolina near Asheville, NC. Gorgeous! Outdoors lovers paradise!
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
It was the huge oak tree in the back of our house that I fell in love with that made my decision to build a house here.

Beautiful, Peaceful sanctuary
Jennifer was wonderful. My stay was so comfortable. The patio overlooking the farm land is amazing. I will be back!
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay.
Beautiful Peace Calm
Jennifer was lovely to work with! Everything went without a hitch. She left out coffee filters and creamers! She also made sure to make us feel welcome to use any room on the entire first floor. It's a great set up. Comfy bed! private bath. And her porch is to DIE FOR!!! Not only does she have plenty of seats to choose from to watch the sunrise (rockers, wicker w/ cushion, even a bench swing!) she has added a screened in porch! Perfect for the storm that rolled by. The porches were where we spent the most time. Gorgeous views. Chairs and a table in the screened-in area for meals. Adorable string lighting for the perfect amount of evening light. On a clear night, we saw millions of stars. It was incredible!
Hummingbirds visited me in the morning. Carolina wrens and blue jays came by occasionally. Neighborhood was quiet and friendly. It was merely a 20 minute drive to downtown Asheville.
If you still want great access to A-ville and hiking, but want peace and quiet at night, this is the perfect place.
Thanks, Meghan. So glad you enjoyed your visit. Please visit us again if you come to the Asheville area in the future.
With the right expectations, this is an affordable base from which to explore the Asheville area.
If friends asked us about whether to stay here we would say, "Sure, but be clear on the following . . ."
1) You are sharing someone's house and living in close proximity with them. You are renting a bedroom and a bathroom (not en suite). We were not told we could have access to any other living areas, so we assume those are off limits.
2) Once again, you are renting a bedroom in someone's home. There is no TV, nor individual thermostat. There is Wi-Fi, so you'll want to bring whatever you want to entertain yourself.
3) The listing mentions a "gourmet breakfast" and "full hot breakfast." Based on other reviews, that may have been the case at one time. We were sent an email after booking informing us that "we will have coffee and muffins only available each morning and that will be self serve."
You are approximately 20 minutes to Asheville, but if you don't want to drive that far for something you forgot or to grab a quick bite to eat, you are only 10 minutes away from Weaverville or Mars Hill.
Here are a few places we recommend visiting: Stack House Pub (Mars Hill), Tupelo Honey Cafe (Asheville), Flora Boutique (West Asheville), Battery Park Book Exchange And Champagne Bar (Asheville), The Chocolate Fetish (Asheville), Grove Arcade (Asheville), ZaPow Gallery (Asheville).
Home away from home
Jennifer was very flexible with our estimated arrival time and left us personified notes with house instructions. Every morning she made us breakfast and even left cookies out for my son the second night we came home. She's very friendly and rooms were the most affordable in the area. They were clean and only complaint from hubby was that the house felt too warm for his overnight comfort. We had our own separate bathroom which was also nice. She provided us detailed instructions to her house in case gps wasn't updated as its a newer home.
This property is in the much desired vacation destination of Asheville, NC where beautiful
mountain scenery abounds plus arts, music and outdoor activities are premium.
