Recently remodeled 1926 home above Union town with wrap around decks with large living space, including living room, kitchen and dining room to comfortably accommodate 2-8 people. New Hot Tub w/View! Watch the ships travel under the Megler through the two large picture windows in the living room. Share a drink and BBQ on the back deck while watching the sun set, or the eagles and herons fly above. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to feel right at home. Downstairs there is a sauna in the Finnish tradition. Upstairs two bedrooms one overlooking the same amazing view, and both with comfortable pillow-top queen mattresses. Bathroom upstairs for easy access. Third bedroom has two twin beds. There is a new hide-a-bed couch in a common area. Home is at the end of a quiet dead-end road, with local traffic only. We have acquired a lodging permit from the city of Astoria. Great walking trail leads to a nice walk to the top of the hill or down a staircase to connect to sidewalks for a walk down to the trolley, to take you and your family to town, or to the esplanade to bike or walk to town on your own.

About Meg & Frank Linza
Frank and I fell in love with Astoria and began to look for a view home. We were fortunate to find not one but two homes side by side, both built in the 1920's on the bedrock above the Columbia high on the hillside. Frank is a finish carpenter and cabinet maker and you will find his charming style throughout both homes. We are now permanent residents of Astoria. Please let us know how we can make your stay memorable.
Meg & Frank Linza purchased this House in 2014
Why Meg & Frank Linza chose Astoria
The view sold us the minute we visited Floral Ave. The vistas are endless as are the sunsets, with the constant traffic of ships traveling through the channel. This year we noticed the eagles. Several bald eagles travel to and from their nest above our home. The homes are located at a level above the Columbia River where the birds fly. The location provides for easy access to the beaches of Fort Stevens out of Hammond and Warrenton, the antique stores and boutiques in Astoria, the numerous breweries, and award-winning restaurants, the Astoria Column, and across the river, the Long Beach peninsula. There is history everywhere. Astoria is the oldest city west of the Mississippi.
What makes this House unique
Every weekend there is a festival, making Astoria a very busy town in the summer. Book early as the town fills up fast. We hope you will allow us to help introduce you to our new discovery of the wonders of the north coast of Oregon.

We had a lovely time! The house was clean, comfortable, and fully equipped for a relaxing vacation! The view of the Columbia River and Astoria Bridge was better than we had hoped for! We definitely want to return! Thank you Meg for being so welcoming!
We loved everything! House, owner, veiw, location, hot tub, sauna and etc!
We had a great time there, would love to come back! Highly recommend for family and friends.
Olga and her family were great guests. They left our home nice and tidy and even left me a piece of birthday cake!! Chocolate...my favorite! I would definitely enjoy if they returned for another visit.

Stunning View! Ease and comfort! Great outdoor spaces!
The photos are pretty accurate. This is one of the most pleasant vacation rentals I've ever been in. The house is very well maintained and FULLY equipped. Not skimpy on TP or paper towels. The owners show a true care about their guests comfort. The fireplace was all set and there were candles and lighters available for mood. If you like to cook, this kitchen has almost everything (except a cheese grater). The beds are super comfortable. And the two decks offer plenty of space for picnicking, relaxing, yoga, painting, games, etc. We could truly relax. We will be back.
A couple of things to be clear about--The hot tub DOES have privacy shades, but is right under the owner's window. And the fire pit is between the two houses. So IF your shy or don't like people, it could feel awkward.
The basement bedroom with the twins is a little gloomy as the window is very small and there is a slight musty odor. But we kept the door open and left the bedside light on. My friend who slept there was very content. Bed was comfy and she felt cozy. She said the shower was excellent, it is inside the sauna and she also reported that it was great. I enjoyed the hot tub with the view at sunset--magical.
Bring a book light. The front bedroom with the view lacked a bedside light. The owner thoughtfully provide 3 battery powered lights, but none worked. I read on a lighted device so it was ok. And probably after the owner reads this they'll provide a small light for the bookcase, but just in case, be aware there is only an overhead light (with fan--nice).
A bathroom on every level--upstairs bath is huge. (The shower is a little slippery-beware.
The furniture is comfortable. Just sitting and staring out the window was the best.
TV instructions were a little confusing, but we figured it out.
In the front bedroom there are two built-in sleeping "cots" for kids in a large "closet".
There's also a foosball table. .
Other than those minor notes, the place was fantastic!! A great place for families or girlfriends
Thank you JoAnn for your recommendations. I will have to look, as I thought we had a cheese grater, but definitely will rectify if missing. Will work on lighting as I'm an avid reader and love having a light to read by that is easy to turn off and on. It is unfortunate that our hot tub is located outside of our home, but we do try to maintain the privacy of our guests. We plan to put blinds on our upstairs bedroom windows but with the roof we really can't see anything, and with the privacy blinds, we don't see a thing. We have also provided bathrobes for those who want coverage to get to and from the hot tub. I will work on the musty smell in the basement bedroom and improve the lighting. I will make sure the three book lights that are in the upstairs bedroom have easy to accessed back up batteries. All are great recommendations! We are always grateful for ideas of how to improve our guest's stay.
Perfect family vacation home with a view
We enjoyed our stay while visiting Astoria for a family reunion. The home was well appointed and very comfortable. The hosts were gracious and quick to respond to any questions. Hope to stay here again on our next visit.
We wanted a cozy place that would fit our family comfortably. We checked multiple hotels in the area and nothing would have been nearly as accommodating as renting a house. Meg and Frank's home more than delivered on the things we needed. There was more than enough room for everyone to sit comfortably in the same room together, but also space if someone wanted a little alone time.
Check-in was super easy and my fiance and I fell asleep in the huge recliners in front of the windows almost immediately. Checking out was also just as simple and we were on our way as soon as we were ready. The next time we take a trip to Astoria, this will most definitely be where we stay (if it's available).
Very quaint and cute!
We loved the views and the quaintness of the home. Meg was a wonderful owner and was right next door if we needed anything.
