cozy house in the hills, walking distance to the beach

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the Cabin! A great little hideaway in an exclusive neighborhood with a 15 minute walk to the beach. Very comfortable for 2 with a small back yard. The house can get hot in the day (we were there in June) but cools off quickly in the early evening. We loved the old charm of the cabin, originally built in the 20s! If you like places that are interesting, tucked away, unique architecture, history, or anything a little out of the ordinary this place is for you.

Fantastic place that was extremely comfortable and cozy

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were in LA for my brothers wedding in Malibu. We found the cabin to be well-stocked and very comfortable. The bed was soft and we both slept well. The outdoor area was also very enjoyable. We loved opening the windows in the morning and enjoying the cool fresh air. We could have stayed here for another week. While there are some steps, they provided a nice little workout when we came and left. I highly recommend this place for a couple or a small family with children over 6 years of age due to the steps. Parking was never an issue. The homeowners were very accommodating and asked us several times if we needed anything.

Thank you so much!

Great place and host, highly recommended!

Ron hosted us in their beautiful cabin and we had a great stay. The place is charming, very clean and quiet. We enjoyed the nice patio and the different environment from downtown LA. Parking can be challenging but overall it was an amazing stay. We'll be back for sure!

very relaxing - down to earth and enjoyable

i would very highly recommend Ron & Kate's rental property. I come to LA quite a bit on business - and this is by far my favorite place to stay. It's close to santa monica , but far enough away that you can escape the hustle and bustle when you come home in the evenings. My wife and infant daughter came and really enjoyed it as well. Its a rare gem, and the hosts Ron & Kate are extremely accommodating. (They even covered our baby stroller when we left it out at night - they knew it was going to rain and we were unaware) -Dan

Charming, relaxing, away from the bustle

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely cabin. It gets natural light, was built in the 40's and is mostly wood. The owners have kept it looking that period. They have toys for the kids, books for the adults, and a gas fireplace for winter. The kitchen is fairly well stocked and they kindly provided tea, honey, half and half, and coffee.

It sits on a steep hill. You can reach it from the street above or below but parking is really only found on the upper street. Be prepared for over 60 steps!

The neighborhood is posh. Tucked in between the mansions are small bungalows built many years ago and they are far more charming.

It is a quick drive both to the ocean and pacific palisades.

The owners were prompt in contacting us.

We will be back!
