Our home has a large, open living room, dining room and kitchen upstairs and 3 bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs. It is very clean and features a nice, tahoe-style feeling. It has forest views with a private setting. The fully equipped kitchen has been updated with new appliances and furnishings are very good to superior, throughout house. A large pine dining table seats 8 and there are two tvs, dvd player, Wifi, TIVO (w/access to Netflix, etc)fireplace, washer, dryer, bbq on large deck outside dining room. Clean linens are provided for every rental. Extra cleaning for stays of more than 7 days available upon request. House is on a level lot with at least four+ off street parking spaces and easy access to the front door, even in the snow. The large deck is sunny much of the afternoon and has seating along one whole side, plus outdoor furniture and grill. The carpets are brand new and so are all of the appliances, and bathroom fixtures. It is located in a neighborhood but privacy is maintained by location of deck/windows and tree screens. It is a quiet road and only .5mi to Chambers beach, restaurant and pier/bar. It is close to Tahoma Market which has the best sandwiches from the deli and good wines too besides all the things to pickup for a meal, last minute items or the little things you forgot! Homewood Ski Area, the locals choice for skiing and snowboarding is less than a mile away and Tahoe City about 6 miles. Squaw and Alpine about a 15 min drive or bus stop at corner. There are casinos about 40 minutes away, north or south, and unlimited access to hiking and biking trails. The lakeside bike trail is just down the street and wilderness hiking out the backdoor! The west shore is dotted with great places to shop, eat and play. Magnificent, historical estates and their grounds to explore, beaches and parks with gorgeous vistas abound. Top notch restaurants and their grand chef's fare available as well as local, small time delis unique sandwiches and happy hours. It's all here; no need to drive far to enjoy all Tahoe has to offer!

Just over a year new to us! We have owned a condo with my sister and husband in Tahoe Tavern for 20 years(and a family condo in Chambers Landing for 14 before that!) and decided to take the leap and purchase a home of our own. We were looking for more privacy and less restrictions than condo living and a place where we will feel more comfortable and spend more time now that we are retired. We love Tahoe, especially the west shore and welcome all visitors; we know you'll love it too!

It's a perfect vacation getaway. As noted above, we've owned a place on the west side for over 30 years...It's the best place to rent for quiet charm of our home and excellent amenities available close by. From our place, you are central and can enjoy West, North, South shores and Truckee and even the back country of Desolation Valley! In the summer, you are near one of the best public beaches on the lake, during winter you're about a mile from skiing at Homewood. Tahoe City is only 7 miles with some of Tahoe's best dining: Wolfdahl's, Christy Hill, Jake's but don't forget, Sunnyside, Tahoe House, Swiss Lakewood and Firesign, local and tourist favorites along the way! Tahoma Mkt (.7) is great for deli sands and so is pizza parlor, esp caesar salads!, past mkt on right.

we really enjoyed our stay at the McRuby cabin. the location is on a quiet street and close to ski resorts (homewood next door, and squaw/alpine 30min away). second level living/dining area has high ceiling, plenty of space for guests, and its conveniently stocked kitchen and entertainment options (tv, netflix, boardgames) makes this a perfect home away from home. big thanks to steve and liz for sharing their lovely home with us. makes our vacation extra special!
Very convenient and easy to find, this home was comfortable for 5 people. We even had enough hot water for showers and did laundry while we were there. Everything was in working order with good internet and TV for those rainy days! We had one day of snow which was beautiful but then two days of rain so not much stayed on the ground. While we were all inside, a bear walked by and left his prints.

Best house for the price in the area. We didn’t have a lot of people staying overnight so we loved the queen and king beds. Most other hones had more beds but all smaller. I had so large men that appreciated the beds

Our overall experience at this home was not very good. The refrigerator did not keep a consistent temperature. We could not keep food in it. Therefore we could not prepare meals at the house. The sheets were dirty, we had to launder all of them. When we brought this matter up with owner she stated that the “cleaning staff was very busy and could probably get out to the house sometime during the week to put clean sheets on the bed” In addition the bedspreads were disgusting! They looked as though they had not been cleaned in a very long time, maybe never. Lastly there were cobwebs and dust everywhere. We were compensated $150.00, which we feel was not fair. Phone service was very poor.
I told her I’d try getting housekeeper back within 24hrs! I did go in after they left and cleaned all bedspreads... again (did so in Springtime). I’ve never had this kind of renter; she was very disagreeable from her first phone call when she wanted to bring her son’s dog. I am having service person come check the frig; the icemaker is having problems but frig is staying cold. I tried my best to address problems from the start but she was always so angry I’m sure nothing I could do would have made her happy.

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The location is perfect. You can walk to Chambers. Very clean. Kitchen is perfectly stocked. Communication was easy. Thank you again!!!
