Great little spot. No direct water access. Only sleeps 6.
This was a great little house with a ocean front view. You do not have direct access to the water however. Also it does not sleep 7. 6 is the max you can fit here. Would for sure go back!!!
Thank you for the review. We do have full size futon in the front bedroom, so the 7th guest can sleep on. Welcome to be back anytime..... Mahalo
Everything and more!
For those of us who live in the states, Hawaii is the vacation that we dream of and I am so pleased to have chose Vicki's property for my Hawaii journey. The location offered so many of Northshore's most popular attractions and sightings within reasonable distance. Driving around Northshore and back to the home made for such a humbling, peaceful experience because the lesser traveled highway offers such spectacular views and greetings into Hawaii's less-touristy territories. And if you're a foodie, you'll be pleased to know that there are an abundance of shrimp trucks and local eateries serving big portions of creamy, macaroni salad and meats. The fact that Giovanni's, arguably the most famous shrimp truck of them all, is nearby made Vicki's property all the more desirable for us. Believe me when I say that you will not regret staying at this villa!
This property was amazing! So much more relaxing and comfortable than a hotel.
The property owner was great to work with and the communication was fantastic. Such a great value for an Oahu trip. We were a family of six and had plenty of room to kick back and relax. Every morning we sat on the back steps and watched a beautiful sunrise. I've already recommended this place to two friends and would come back in a heartbeat myself.
Very comfortable home
We were very happy with our stay and I would only repeat all the comments that were in other reviews. I would have given it 5 stars except for the road noise (that wasn't a hindrance as those guests closed windows and used air conditioner) and the fact that the stairs to the beach are next door - also no big deal. Theres a little beach in front of the house at low tide and the beach to the right is very nice. We enjoyed morning walks. The water is not very inviting to swim in there, although, some of us did swim. Very nice beaches and beautiful waters to swim in are very close by.
The beds are very comfortable and the house was much better stocked with more than I expected - even beach towels. All appliances worked perfectly. The house was clean and well organized. I would definitely recommend renting this house.
Wonderful trip with family
Husban and I, daughter and son-in-law and 2 toddler grandkids very much enjoyed our stay in the lovely beach cottage. Pros: clean, convenient location, away from touristy crowds, but easy trips to grocery store, north shore surf towns, Honolulu, and many other places. But best option was evenings and mornings in quiet relaxing backyard overlooking the ocean. Crabs skittering on rocks below and play area in backyard were fun for kids and charcoal grill was used several times. Kokololio beach (locals beach) just a few minutes up the road was better than any famous beach we've ever visited. House had everything we needed and access was easy. Cons: right off busy highway, keep an eye on little ones while getting in and out of car, beach is not accessible from backyard...you have to walk down a few houses but then there's a long lovely beach for walking in the morning or evening. It's not good for swimming, but sometimes chatted with fisherman.
Kitchen had everything we needed, washer and dryer was such an asset, and beds were comfortable. Front bedroom did get traffic noise, but it was manageable. Cozy house for family yet plenty of privacy as well...perfect.
Very nice and met our expectations.
Two couples stayed at this property in May 2014 for one week. Communication with the owner, booking and payment went smoothly with no issues. The location is near the Polynesian Cultural Center, about an hour from the airport. We really liked this area as it’s close to the North Shore and away from the busy downtown area. It is also close to a couple of grocery stores. There is noise from the traffic that you can hear from the bedroom closest to the street however, there are many houses that are close to the main road so I don’t think this is a negative. The house itself is in good shape and has a warm cottage feel. The kitchen, dining and living area is open concept and very large with two sliding doors to the backyard and another off the main bedroom. The kitchen had everything we needed and also having a washer and dryer was very convenient. There are air conditioners in the bedrooms but rarely used them as the ocean breeze was cool enough. The morning sunrises are amazing and it was nice to take a walk on the beach without having to drive to one.
For sites, we recommend Waimea Bay for swimming (bring an umbrella) and the botanical gardens across the street, the North Shore for food trucks, Pupukea (Sharks’s Cove) for snorkeling. We also recommend Kualoa Ranch for the Jungle Expedition and Movie site tour but not the Legend and Legacy tour or the ATV’s (if you own one or have been on them before as you might find it boring and very hot).
Overall, we liked this property for it’s quiet, beachfront, central location away from Honolulu and would recommend it to others who are looking for a relaxing vacation and like a cottage/beach town feel.
