About Sharon and Ronald Blasko
I am a Marine, that somehow, ended up at Notre Dame. For 17 years, I ran and taught in the Engineering Machine Shop. During that time, I started my own small shop. Just recently I had to have emergency heart surgery and my love had to have a complete hysterectomy. All within 3 weeks. I have been shell shocked and decided to open up our little house this football season. We have invested in this neighborhood, both, physically and emotionally, with my now closed machine shop, or as my wife calls it now, the "fort", our main home "Big House", the "Grey House", next door, in which, believe it or not, Joey, yeah that the one, Montana, lived with me for awhile, no lie).! I've purchased other properties along the way, our 'little house', was built in 1906, a few lots away, down the street to the west, 1/2 block closer to ND, 3 lots, directly across the street from both the 'Big House' and the 'Grey House'. One of those lots, had little white house, with a back porch, just right for my mother. When she passed away in my arms in 2007, I sold that property to Notre Dame. We currently rent out the 'little house' and the "grey house" to professors, graduate students, visiting foreign faculty, from all over the world. We love it. My wife especially loves the cultural interaction, the female company and children.
Sharon and Ronald Blasko purchased this House in 1990
Why Sharon and Ronald Blasko chose South Bend
We are renting our "little house", or as I call her, my "baby house", out exclusively for ND home football weekends. We have two (2) other properties listed with VRBO, 594456 and 594457, which book up almost immediately due to our location and I hope :) our personal touch. It just makes sense, we are so close to campus, etc. Since our current Lessee said go for it, then why not?! It's a win-win situation, the rent goes down if she rents and we make a little extra $$ to re-invest into the homes and our neighborhood. For our guests, the bonuses are too many to list. Here's just a few examples. No more hassles dealing with large groups, hotels, eating out, parking, not knowing where you are, car rental, and any other discomfort that comes with the hectic ND football/ND event weekends.

A quaint little house with a gorgeous yard
Overall it was good. Minor issues were handled promptly and the landlords were friendly
Absolutely a positive experience all around. I stayed in this lovely two-bedroom house (the "little house") for a month as I worked in the University of Notre Dame. The location is perfect, especially for those who look for a decent place close to the Notre Dame campus and the stadium (only 5 minutes walk away!). The little house was fully-furnished and immaculately clean. The kitchen was also well-equipped with plates, cutlery, microwave, refrigerator, and many other cooking tools. My room was relatively small, but felt very comfortable with all the amenities I needed during my stay. Seating area and barbecue outside was a wonderful addition.
Sharon and Ron were just fabulous! They were very, very friendly, easy to communicate and kept the house orderly and clean during my stay. I especially appreciate that they provided a steam rice cooker (as I love Asian cuisine). I truly loved and enjoyed staying the little house--if I need to stay in Notre Dame/South Bend area once again in the future, I will definitely return and stay there. Many thanks to you, Sharon and Ron. I miss both of you.
Our quiet, secluded, hidden neighborhood is an American pastime. Tucked away on the east side of Notre Dame campus, we are just off the campus map. Ron and I are the head of our local Neighborhood Watch, implemented this past February. We work together with Notre Dame, Overlook, Irish Flats, Irish Row, local/county/state law enforcement and of course, our great neighbors, to uphold the standards and safety of our community, Morningside/Pedestrian Addition. We are so close, you can "taste" the ND experience. Walking distance to Campus, the Grotto, Sacred Heart Basilica, DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, Compton Family Ice Area, etc. etc. etc. Grocery, Restaurants, Pharmacy, Fine Dining, Shopping, Bargain Hunting, and of course, just relaxing on the front porch are all part of our "little slice of heaven". We look forward to making your acquaintance. So, come and enjoy our hospitality. GO IRISH!
