Disconnect and discover Big Sky Country at our beautiful cabin on Rock Creek. Our valley is surrounded by beautiful mountain views, bald eagles, deer and glistening Rock Creek. We have everything necessary to set up a home base to discover Southwest Montana and all its beauty.
Our wind/solar/propane powered cabin delivers a vacation from it all, but you still have all of the comforts of Missoula (voted one of the top places to live by Outdoor Magazine in 2014) at only an hour away. Our place is ideal for a family vacation where parents can hike with their children, teach them to fish or find multiple outdoor adventures without competing with social media. Our cabin offers an amazing opportunity in tranquility and would suit newlyweds, work professionals or just anyone who wants to find nature and unplug.
Our sleeping arrangement includes 2 bedrooms each with queen sized beds and a twin sized sleeper couch in the living room. Bathroom has a shower, sink and standard toilet. Plenty of hot water.
Unique Features: Only 20 miles south of Interstate 90! Our 1300 sq. ft. Moose Paddle Retreat getaway was built to blend seamlessly with the rustic, unspoiled environment of this nature lovers dream. The heat sources are propane heaters in addition to wood fireplaces. A propane fridge, oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and firewood are provided for guests, but no washer, dryer or TV. The property is completely off the grid and has no cell reception. The entrance to Moose Paddle Retreat includes a scenic 10 mile drive on a gravel road.
Things to Do:
Cabin time includes early morning coffee while watching the new fawns chase their mothers from the deck or late night stargazing and bonfires. Hike the National Forest within 300 yards of our MT vacation home. Discover moose and bighorn sheep only 10 yards from your vehicle while out exploring the stream to the south of our property. And last, but certainly my favorite, Blue Ribbon trout fishing on Rock Creek is only a short walk from the front door and perfect for all levels of fisherman.
Other family trips include a trip into nearby Philipsburg which houses world famous Gem Mountain. Here, you can dig in gravel for your very own Montana Sapphires and maybe strike it lucky. If your sweet tooth needs solved, you can also discover a Montana favorite, Sweet Palace... or for the adults, dive into the local brewery and grab a growler. We would love to share our home with you and look forward to helping you discover a place in Montana that we fell in love with at first sight.
Some important notes:
All aspects of the operation of the wind/solar power system will be explained by our property manager who will meet you at time of booking. Limited phone access is also provided by our property managers on an emergency basis. Please email for extended rate questions.
