The Mana Kai Maui Resort has been a fan favorite condo property in South Maui for decades. The property is so highly praised because of its superb location at the start of Keawakapu Beach. The white sand beach stretches for over a mile, right into Wailea, ending in front of the high-end Andaz Resort. Guests can choose to walk along the great beach, catch some rays, or snorkel right in front of the property (where turtles are often spotted).
Besides the beachfront location, guests will enjoy a slew of on-site amenities. For starters, the private beachfront pool is a great option for taking a refreshing dip while you still enjoy views of ocean and beachgoers. The ground floor open-air restaurant overlooking Keawakapu Beach enjoys views that are just as amazing as the food. The Five Palms Restaurant is famous for having one of the most popular happy hours on Maui. Pull up a chair at the bar for a tropical cocktail! Other onsite amenities include a deli/general store where you can pick up snacks for the beach, a surf shack where you can rent stand up paddle boards, and even an activity desk for booking all your favorite Maui adventures.
This one bedroom condo is 604 square feet and has ocean views from your private lanai, living room, and bedroom. Take advantage of the full kitchen to prepare breakfasts and lunches. There is King bed in the master bedroom and sofa can fold into a bed to sleep up to 4 total guests. There is also free WiFi in this condo. Each floor at the Mana Kai has washing machines, so you can conveniently do laundry nearby. Please note that there is no air conditioning in this condo, but ceiling fans and the ocean breezes keep the condo cool.

This was our 4th or 5th time to Mana Kai. We found this unit to be great and would definitely stay here again. There were a couple minor issues, but we had a maintenance guy at the unit within hours of our call (on a Sunday no less!), and two follow-up calls from the rental company to ensure that we were happy. The place is fairly well stocked...boogie boards, beach cooler, beach mats, some shovels and pails for kids etc. They have beach chairs, but they need to be replaced. Not a big deal though, you can rent them downstairs for $20/week. The shower was great, the bed was comfy, and the kitchen had most of everything we needed. I would recommend adding some tupperware so we could bring fruit and whatnot to the beach. Oh, and we couldn't find a dustpan so had to get creative when sweeping up our daily sand. :)
While it is not the newest property on the beach, it’s all about location, and Mana Kai Maui has it - best views, best beach, best sunsets and best snorkeling in the area. Most units including this rental have been remodeled and updated. Two nice restaurants, one on property, both with open air patios and nice beach/ocean views. Activities center, equipment rental and small store also on site. Will be back!
This condo was available on short notice, and it worked well for me due to a change of plans. It was also substantially cheaper than booking through the hotel website (with a rack rate of $450 night). That said, the unit was very average if not a bit tired. The carpet was incredibly dirty, as was the artificial palm tree (covered in dirt). The kitchen was average, with glasses and towels that needed replacing. They were so scratched from use you could barely see if they were clean. Granted, I am a picky guest. I have owned many rentals and always made sure my guests had excellent sheets, towels, dishes and glasses, etc...it's a modest expense to replace yearly, as is having the carpets and tile professionally cleaned 2-3 times a year. The best feature is the lanai and the incredible view and access to Keawakapu Beach, and happy our at the 5 Palms downstairs. Next time I'll probably book through the hotel, as from what I saw they were better maintained.
