Tigh Na Loch is located on its own private peninsula with 1000 feet of shoreline on the Big Rideau Lake, in the heart of Ontario's only UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The main house is 2800 sq feet and has a brand new viewing deck overlooking the lake and four bedrooms each sleeping two. The log home features a large great room with massive stone fireplace and loft. There are 2 1/2 bathrooms and modern kitchen as well as a recreation room with large hot tub ( winter use ) , sauna, pool table and 55 inch flatscreen.
The new separate lake side cabin will accommodate an additional two adults and two children.
Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities
You will enjoy excellent swimming with a sand beach for toddlers with shallow wading, a dock wading area with waist deep water for children's swimming and a separate deep water dock with ladder and diving board for adults.
There is excellent fishing from the property for bass, pike and perch or deep water fishing for lake trout by boat. There are three kayaks ( two adult and one children's ) and a canoe as well as a 14 foot aluminum fishing boat for your use ( not equipped with an outboard motor ).
You will be located just ten minutes by car ( or five by boat ) to the lakeside village of Portland with food, liquor and banking services as well as a waterside pub / dining. We are approximately one hour south of Ottawa, our nation's capital and one hour north of the historic city of Kingston on the St. Lawrence River. Both cities provide ample historic and cultural activities. We are less than an hour from the US border and within easy driving distance ( 3 hours ) of both Toronto and Montreal. Niagara Falls is a little over 4 hours and New York City is about six.
We are located about ten minutes away from the Cataraqui Trail which runs for a little over 100 km from Smiths Falls to near Napanee. It is very popular for hikers and cyclists. We have a selection of adult and child sized bicycles for your use.
