Lovely 1930s house located in a beautiful neighborhood in Old Palo Alto. Great walking neighborhood, convenient to everything. Just 3 blocks to Caltrain and the numerous restaurants and shops of the California Ave business district. Less than a mile from the Stanford campus. 1.5 miles to the shops of University Avenue.
The house is bright and airy with a great floor plan. It has 3 bedrooms and two baths. It has a warm comfortable living room, nice formal dining room, and a bright kitchen with new quartz counter tops. Large master bedroom has a king bed and en-suite bath with shower, opens onto a covered patio, and has a large window offering a view of the spacious back yard. Front bedroom is large and private, with a double bed. Middle bedroom has a trundle bed that can be set up as two separate singles, or joined together to make one double bed. In addition to the main house, there is also a detached building consisting of a family room, small internet-wired office, and laundry area. This is a great place to hang out and watch TV or play games. The backyard is large and private, full of flowers and fruit trees, with a secluded hot tub and redwood deck.
There are two TVs with cable and HBO, plus a Roku you can use to stream your Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon account. Wired and wireless internet in both buildings.

I stayed in this home for 1 month with my family (3 adults, 1 child) and it was the perfect place for us as we looked for a more permanent place to live. Very convenient (5min walk) to the California St. business district (restaurants, cafes, supermarket) and Caltrain station. It was also very conveniently located just off of Alma St/Central Expressway as it made for a short commute to my office in Santa Clara. The home is beautiful, cozy, and just the right size for a family of 4. My young son loved the little backyard space. The owners were wonderful to work with - they responded quickly to any questions we had and were very pleasant to communicate with. It was a long (25 min) walk to University Ave or Town & Country shopping area, but we did so on occasion. I highly recommend staying here.
We enjoyed our stay in this home in Palo Alto. The best thing about it might be the location. An easy five minute walk (via a pedestrian/bike underpass) to California Avenue with it's supermarket, Saturday farmers market, train station and more restaurants than we had time to visit. The house is not large, but was certainly more than adequate for just the two of us. We enjoyed having a separate "family room" where visiting grandchildren could play with their toys without cluttering up the rest of the house. The garden is lovely. The interior was very well maintained, and the owners very responsive to anything that came up during our two month stay.
We had a wonderful stay in a charming neighborhood in Old Palo Alto. The house is conveniently located just minutes away from the CalTrain station and California Ave. We stayed 2 months while our house was being remodeled and had an enjoyable time visiting the California Ave restaurants and coffee shops. The walk to downtown Palo Alto was a bit longer but easily done in less than 30 minutes and took us through many of the beautiful Palo Alto streets. The house itself was charming with a well landscaped back yard and hot tub. The kids especially enjoyed the den (which was a converted garage) which offered plenty of privacy and extra space. Lisa and John were wonderful to work with throughout our time at the house. They were attentive and responsive as needed. Overall, I highly recommend this rental and would love to stay sometime in the future.
This was, indeed, a charming home right in the middle of historic Palo Alto. The California Street shopping area (restaurants, coffee shop, grocery store) was a 7 minute walk away. In three directions one could walk through lovely Palo Alto neighborhoods. Stanford University and University Ave shopping each just 10 minutes away by car. And CalTrain was literally a 5 minute walk away. I loved how the master bedroom opened up to a lovely deck. Both the front and back yard were beautifully manicured, and the back yard was completely private. The owners were very agreeable and attentive to my needs. And last, but not least, my son and grandson enjoyed the basketball hoop!
