John & Larissa Kowalczyk
Why John & Larissa Kowalczyk chose Woodgate
White Lake and the Old Forge area has become one of our favorite places to spend quality family time together – away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and in the beauty and tranquility of the Adirondacks. From days at the beach and paddling the lake, hikes rewarded with spectacular views, wet fun in the water park, hitting the snowmobile or ski trails, to simply relaxing or dining out, we’ve made many family memories here and hope you will as well.

Great house in a great location for enjoying the Adirondacks
Really enjoyed our stay. Owner made the entire process very easy. Great house in a great location.
We loved our stay here! We spent most of our time in the back room with the fire place playing games and talking. The fireplace really warms up the house and makes it nice and cozy. We found the house to be very spacious with lots of sleeping options. The kitchen is a nice size and fully stocked with all the pots/pans/ dishes we needed. We walked to the White Lake Inn for some drinks, chicken wings (highly recommend the wings) and played some darts. The walk to the beach is quick and easy and we can’t wait to come back in the summer time!
Overall, the house was very spacious and clean and we had all the information we needed from the owners prior to arriving. The owners are very easy to work with.
We would definitely recommend this home and will be coming back again. Thanks for sharing your home with us!
Thank you for your comments Kristen, we’re so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay and we look forward to having you again!
Nice, well equipped home close to Old Forge.
My family and I had the pleasure of staying in John and Larissa’s home the weekend of 10/26-10/28 .
The four of us, my oldest sons girlfriend and two other families, for a total of six adults and eight kids (ages 9-18) were able to comfortably fit without getting in each others way.
This home had a wonderful all seasons room with a wood stove where the adults hung out most of the time (it was a cold, wet weekend, so we were unable to do outside activities.) The room has two couches and several chairs which made it easy for us to sit, relax, talk and enjoy a drink and it was spacious enough for us to sit and play games with our kids.
The kitchen was well equipped which made it easy for us to cook, make coffee or grab a snack. There were dish towels for us to use, plenty of dishes and utensils, a coffeemaker, microwave, water cooler and the normal kitchen appliances as well.
The living room/dining area was a large space. The dining table could fit 8 adults easily. I. In the living room area there were two couches one of which had a large pull out bed. The fireplace, which we did not use was lovely. Their was a large, wall mounted tv, that received many channels, which all the boys/men appreciated so they could watch basketball and football.
Also on the first floor their was a full bath that had plenty of hot water and towels for us to use, a utility room with a washer and dryer, a large bedroom with a queen or king bed (I’m not sure since I did not sleep in that room), dresser, desk and plenty of floor space for and air bed if needed. The second bedroom on the first floor was smaller, but held two twin beds, chair, and nightstand. All the beds had pillows, sheets and comforters.
Upstairs there was two bedrooms and a bathroom as well. Six of the eight kids fit in the room on the left using the two beds and a couple of air mattresses. The upper room on the right held a large bed and had plenty of room for air mattresses if needed. All the upstairs beds also had pillows, sheets and comforters.
John and Larissa’s home was an easy drive into Old Forge and several grocery stores, if needed. A five minute walk from their home was a bar and restaurant which had really good chicken wings and was a fun place to hang out. Up the road was a diner where we had a good breakfast Sunday morning.
All, in all our stay at John and Larissa’s home was comfortable, fun and we would definitely stay there again.
Thank you for the review Nicole. I'm glad you all enjoyed your stay and we look forward to hosting you again!
Family and friend getaway
We enjoyed a fun getaway weekend in this beautiful home. The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated. There was plenty space for everyone. The kitchen was fully equipped, spacious and clean. Plenty of bathrooms for a large group and spotless. Makes it nice for out of town visitors.
The three season room was a nice area to kickback , relax and chat with friends. Fireplaces made the home feel warm and welcoming.
The lake down the road and friendly bar/restaurant was entertaining to get out and have a change of pace.
Overall, this property has a nice cozy feel and made our visit very enjoyable and easy. We would definitely visit again! I highly recommend this property for any season. Thank you for having us!
Thank you Brenda, we're so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you and your family again soon!
