Nice vacation spot
Great location. Close to Minoqua, Tomahawk and Rhinelander. The property has a very large living space. The 6 of us were very comfortable..The lake is big but not much of a beach. Fishing off the pier was good. Kids liked it. It is very quiet and peaceful. Good escape from everyday hustle. It is a good thing the restaurant above was closed. It would have been nice to have WIFI and a boat. Thanks
Great location - comfortable stay
We stayed here the second week of July 2018.
As of our stay the restaurant upstairs had been closed for sometime - a welcome update as we didn't need to deal with customer's cars or the noise issues others referenced in their reviews. That said, it is still, essentially, a walk-out basement so humidity and condensation, as with any basement, are present. I just wish we could have access to the upstairs as even an un-stocked bar area would have been a nice touch - plus the view during sunsets from upstairs is likely beautiful.
The rooms are a decent size and the beds are rather comfortable. The living space (living room) is really large although the place does fit 8 adults but only enough chairs/space around the dinner table for 6. There is also no picnic table or other means to eat outdoors - that would be a nice addition.
The beach is shared with 6 other homes but those are not rented out so the owners will likely only be there on the weekends. The beach itself is really nice - although a steep hill is between the house and the beach so bring a wagon to carry items up/down the hill - and is one of only 2 sand beaches on the whole lake.
Fishing in great! We caught plenty of decent sized bass right off the dock. We're told the lake has a ton of muskie as well but we didn't even try for such large fish (different line/bait needed).
We rented a pontoon from Minocqua Pontoon Cruises (they deliver) - a small expense for the amount of fun - which we kept right on the dock at the beach.
The house is on well water so you may want to buy enough bottled water to drink and if you do laundry you'll either get small stains or, if you use the iron-out in the wash, a slight bleaching effect on the clothes. There are 4 showers (no tubes, so showering a 1 year old and a 2 year old was not easy) but the well pump only provides enough pressure for one shower at a time.
Over-all the place was great and we all had a ton of fun but if you're expecting the Taj Mahal, then expect to pay considerably more elsewhere. We recommend this rental and would consider staying here again.
Great lake getaway.
Very nice place. Huge multi-purpose dining, kitchen & family room. Clean. Terrific lake. Great walkout to a private fire pit. Shared beach and pier. We would have liked to know in advance it was below a (closed) restaurant/bar.
Very large and accomidating
Had a great time the infloor heat was great all the cooking pots and pans to prepare thanksgiving meal had fun would recommend it
Lots of room and great quiet location.
Great place with lots of room. Housekeeping was not the best and bedrooms and bathrooms could use a little decorative touch but the main space was nice. Very reasonabley priced and would stay there again.
This place was awesome. Great location. Sam was great to work with. Bring your own towels!
