Loved our stay!
We came to Oahu for a much needed rest and for my husband to perform a wedding ceremony. Our stay here was all that we needed. It was quiet, clean, adorably furnished and welcoming. It is a close walk to the beach and not far from the business area of town. The unit is very private with it's own yard where you can enjoy breakfast with the song birds. The unit has no air conditioning but we didn't need it. There are screened windows throughout the unit which allow a lovely breeze. We were very comfortable. There is no TV and that suited us just fine. This was our first VRBO experience and we would highly recommend both Sarah and her adorable apartment! We would return here in a heartbeat!
Perfect for our needs and just what we were looking for. Quiet, peaceful and inviting environment. Thoughtfully designed space. It was clean, comfortable and within walking distance of town and the beach. Having a well supplied kitchen allowed us to prepare meals if we did not feel like going out. The backyard garden is lovely and private. Owner was quick to respond and also has a helpful "in studio" notebook that supplies useful info. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Kailua and look forward to staying here again.
Windward Coast Can Be Warm in May
The accommodations were very satisfactory but the weather was warmer than we expected. The unit did not have A/C, to which my wife was accustomed, so she was uncomfortable. The three fans did a good job of keeping the air moving, which made it tolerable. We were very close to restaurants, shopping and the beach, which was a plus. Our host, Sarah, was very gracious and accommodating. We were able do some sightseeing around the island, and enjoyed the mangos that Sarah grew on her trees.
We had a delightful visit at Tutu's studio. The location is ideal, the unit is clean and very functional.
Sarah is a wonderful host; she goes above and beyond the call of duty to make your stay enjoyable.
We wish we could have stayed longer! We'll be back!
Kailua at Its Best
We loved staying at this studio on Kailua Road. Our hostess, Sarah, made this stay so perfect. She handled the paperwork easily and promptly, she sent us directions to her studio from the airport, and waiting for us upon our arrival was a warm welcome and a bottle of chilled white wine, snacks, all the condiments we could possibly need, and a pristine unit. This unit has tons of storage space, access to a lovely backyard, the sound of birds to wake us up, and even flowers on the grass as we left for the day. The walk to the beach was an easy 10 minutes away and to the business center (grocery, restaurants, pubs, shopping) was the same distance the other way. Sarah is a near-native and knows so much about Oahu, where to go and how to get there. Our time with her was very special. She exemplifies the Aloha Spirit. If you are going to Oahu, consider this your possible home base. Aloha!
Charming, great yard and large kitchen
My boyfriend and I have stayed at 6 different places on all the islands but this one was our favorite. We loved the charming space and the large yard where we would have breakfast every morning. The kitchen was well equipped with everything. The only thing we missed a bit was a TV. Sarah was out of town so Robin greeted us, she was very helpful and kind. I would highly recommend this studio!
In addition to the obvious attractions of bike, kayak, windsurfing, and/or snorkeling rentals, the host is a lifelong resident, who can guide you to interesting cultural venues and current cultural events.
