About Lisa Smith
My family and I enjoy the water and the gulf. Everyday is unique and we never know what adventure we will experience when we are here. We enjoy seeing the turtles, fishing, snorkeling and biking the most. We have even rented scuba gear to explore our beach. We can't wait to live here permanently some day.
Lisa Smith purchased this House in 2015
Why Lisa Smith chose Englewood
We bought this property because of the fantastic sunsets and the seclusion of the property. The moment we walked through the front door, we knew we would not find another place like this. This beach was unique and after looking for several years, we chose this beach for the variety of activities specifically shelling and collecting sharks teeth. We'll never tire of watching for dolphins. You can't get any closer to the water.
What makes this House unique
Our favorite part of the house is the expansive lanai. It has everything we need to relax. The second we walk in the door, we can relax and downshift into island time.

Amazing!!!!!!! Beautiful home right on the beach!!! The pictures don't do it justice!!!
We had 10 people (4 adults and 6 children) stay for 10 days. The whole was just perfect!! First of all, the house is gorgeous inside and out. The owners take excellent care of the property and the whole operation was so turnkey! They had everything we needed except groceries! We loved our time so much that we will definitely be back next year! We have been going to Manasota Key for years and this was by far our best trip! Being right on the beach in a gorgeous home made all the difference! Can't say enough about how great it was! Here are some highlights of our trip: 4 times saw baby turtles hatch and make their way to the ocean, saw dolphins right by the shore twice, found hundreds of shark teeth, sand dollars, beautiful shells, and even saw a sting ray. The water is so blue and gorgeous and we literally had the entire beach to ourselves!! Best trip ever!!!
Thank you so much Brian! I appreciated the pictures also. Your comments remind me of why we decided to get this home!
Wonderful Beach House
We traveled in May and really enjoyed the quiet of Manasota Key. Our house was steps from the beach, and was beautifully furnished with everything we needed. We especially loved that each bedroom had its own bath. It was fun to use the bikes to ride into "town"; the paddleboard and kayak were a hit, as well.
The downstairs apartment could use a little updating but it did afford lots of privacy. Also, the photos did not make it clear that there was a flight of stairs from the main level of the house to the deck, which is a concern if there are mobility issues. There is an elevator, (which we finally figured out how to use!), which was very convenient for getting luggage and groceries up to the main level, but not practical for getting from the beach to the house.
Overall, a fantastic stay; highly recommended.
The property was wonderful
This vacation consisted of two families, one a family of four with kids ages 9 and 6, the other was a family of five with kids 6, 3, and 1 1/2. It accommodated everyone just fine and the kids had plenty to do. From water sports to board games and plenty of space for meals and dinners we would recommend this property. The owner was also attentive and very nice.
I appreciate the nice review. I hope you can return another time!
Fantastic Family Vacation!
We were the second family with jpearl, and I second everything already said. This was an extremely comfortable and clean house with all necessities, and Manasota Key is a hidden treasure of Florida's west coast. All 8 persons (read personalities), kids (11-16) and adults, enjoyed themselves immensely!
The ocean is your backyard in this beautiful and quiet neighborhood, and the water temperature was always 68-72 degrees...lovely for December! There is a 10-second walk to the quiet beach with very little foot traffic - the public beach is over half mile to the north. The available beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, kayaks, inflatable tubes, paddle board, skim board, boogie board, fishing poles, and shark tooth screen tools made for many fun-packed memorable days on the beach. And the outdoor showers helped keep the sand where it belongs: outside.
The town is a short drive away for convenient shopping and restaurants. But the full kitchen and screened lanai with a large BBQ area makes staying in for meals an easy choice.
There was one day with cold cloudy weather, but at this house our vacation was not stalled. The house is equipped for any type of weather: it is pleasantly temperature-controlled for hot or cold, has multiple large-screen TVs and a game closet, and there is a hot tub near the back patio area. And of course the beach is always available for calming walks and shell-collecting during any weather.
There is also an elevator from the front garage area to the kitchen/main floor, but we did not use it; it would be convenient for those who require an alternative to stairs, and with the large upstairs living room with a wall of windows, or the screened lanai off this room, there are convenient observation areas of the beach without having to go to the beach.
Most windows provide fantastic views of the beach and ocean at any time of the day, and the sound of the ocean waves lull you to sleep! Even the front yard is well-manicured beautiful and set back from the main street. We would repeat this vacation in a heartbeat!
Amazing Family Vacation on Manasota Key
We just returned from a wonderful week at this home on Manasota Key! We were 2 families with 4 children aging from 16 to 11.
Home: The house is amazing. Very spacious with plenty of room for a large family with amazing views of the Gulf. Everything you could want in a gourmet kitchen to cook is available. The grounds are well manicured and very inviting. There is a hot tub as well.
Beach: The beach is very private and with direct access to your own private area of ocean and sandy beach. We enjoyed the kayaks, paddle board and the fishing gear that were at the house. The kids enjoyed finding lots of sharks teeth and shells on the beach! We saw many people fishing but didn't catch anything ourselves.
Access: While you are on the key, it's still easy to access all grocery stores and shopping you could need. There is a Walmart, Target and Publix just off the island.
Restaurants: There are many great restaurants close by both on the key and right off. Many choices for all taste buds.
Sunsets: Every night, they were amazing and so beautiful. The porch is a great place to sit and watch the beautiful views of the sunset on the gulf waters.
Activities: Allure rentals is 10 minutes away, where you can rent a jet boat, pontoon boat, jet skis. Taking one of these out on the bay or the gulf is a must!
Overall: This property is amazing and the surrounds are great as well. It's easy enough to get to from several different airports. You could stay at the house and beach all week and never leave or venture out with plenty to do. This vacation home will fit the needs of many different traveling types! You won't be disappointed.
Thanks so much! I hope you come again!
Private Scenic Beach Getaway
The highlight of this beautiful home is the fact that you are a matter of steps from the beach in a very secluded setting. The very spacious and tastefully decorated home sits on a property with more than 100 palm trees and lush tropical landscaping. Start your day with a stroll down the quiet beach, searching for shells and enjoying sea life and birds. Enjoy the warm Florida sun during the day, utilizing kayaks, paddle boards and other items furnished with the home. Wrap up the day with your cocktail of choice as the sun sets over the Gulf of Mexico. There is a spacious screened in lanai that provides a perfect space for entertaining-- complete with plenty of seating and a high end grill and cooking surface. Should you have the desire to take a break away from this vacation home, you can venture a short matter of miles down the beach to an area with restaurants and watering holes. Perfect for a family to enjoy, or a group of couples. We had never visited this part of Florida, yet will certainly venture back to enjoy this vacation home!
Thanks Tom. Please come back again!
Manasota Key is known as Florida's least crowded best beaches. It is a barrier island off the coast of Englewood known as the "gem and the heart of the suncoast". It is 85 miles from Tampa Bay and 50 miles from Fort Myers, and 35 miles south of Sarasota. It is also known as the turtle nesting capital of Florida. Sea turtles nest in March with peak nesting May through August. Often nesting and hatching turtles are seen at night. Another common find are sharks teeth. There are multiple parks/beaches: Blind Pass, Stump Pass, Cedar Point, Indian Mound, Myakka State Forest, Venice Pier. There is a boat launch less than 5 minutes away.
