About Gloria Wilson
My husband parents own a house on this lake. He has been coming to this lake every summer for the past 58 years and I have been lucky enough to have been with him here at the lake for the last 25!
Gloria Wilson purchased this Cabin in 2015
Why Gloria Wilson chose Traverse City
Rennie Lake is very special because of there is no public access we don't have large crowds on the lake. You can enjoy swimming, skiing, and fishing or........Just relax and enjoy watching deer, loons, bald eagles!
What makes this Cabin unique
The sunsets from the deck and sitting around a campfire are things to remember for a lifetime!

Cabin was great and right on the water
We had a great week. Very relaxing, clean and close to lots of things to do.
A getaway close to everything!
This place was perfect. Beautiful setting on the Lake but close to everything you need! Staying in the cozy cabin felt like we were far away from everything but it only took about 15 minutes to get into Traverse City! I stayed with our 2 young daughters. I would highly recommend it!
Balsam of the Pines on Rennie Lake
This is what I loved about the little cottage on Lake Rennie. The view of the lake and the awesome sunrises and vibrant sunsets...best seen from the dock. The sound of the loons most every morning and evening are magical. The cottage is tucked away in the woods yet an easy 10 minute trip into Traverse City. The newly remodeled bathroom is a big plus. The bedrooms are small but with ample storage so you can totally unpack your bags and feel right at home. The full size beds are super comfortable. Enjoyed opening the wooden shutters in the bedrooms which allowed the lake breeze to filter in.The tiny screened-in front porch is a great place to have coffee or a night-cap. Loved it too that a small boat was available for our use...along with bicycle paddle boats. The kitchen was well stocked. The use of a stool is required to reach the upper cabinets if you're short ( stool is provided!) All in all, the cottage is a very charming place to stay...and I would stay there again for sure. On the negative side. When we arrived we found that the refrigerator had not been cleaned. We cleaned it due to food we had to store but did report it to Gloria. Also, be warned that there is a larger home, very close to the cottage, that can house many people. We were very lucky that our neighbors were very respectful of the quiet times and willingly shared their beach, their bonfires and their good humor. The lake is very clean but advise wearing shoes as you enter the water because the bottom is quite Mucky. Fans are included if needed but need to be cleaned. The cottage is very small...it was perfect for my sister and I but don't recommend for too many more people. The good of the cottage far out way the bad. Did not miss TV at all. Cell service is fine if you have 4G and lots of minutes. Highly recommend the restaurant/bar named "Dillingers". Great Coctails and food and not overpriced. If you're planning a visit to Traverse City I highly recommend this property. If you have lots of people Gloria also owns the home next store....it has everything for a large group.
Clean, cozy, convenient, comfortable cottage.
Lake cottage. Screened in porch facing water is nice feature. Fish boat, kayaks, and fire pit are great amenities. The one time we needed something Gloria responded immediately. Highly recommend.
Peaceful and Relaxing
My wife and I spent a week on private Rennie Lake in this cute and charming cottage, June 24 - July 1. My wife said it was like going back in time when she used to stay in cottages up in Traverse City with family. This property is represented accurately on the site, and the owners are across the lake and at the ready if you need anything. Everything you could need was provided inside the cottage, which was very clean. We enjoyed sitting on the screened back porch, which faced the lake, and spent a good deal of time there. There were evening breezes that swept over the porch area. Very relaxing. We enjoyed walks on the trails at the cottage, fishing at the cottage, and using the pontoon, water bikes, and kayaks at the cottage. We took side trips to State Forest Campgrounds and went trout fishing, successfully. While pontooning during the day and evenings, we enjoyed the family of Loons on Rennie Lake (and their unusual calls to each other) , the eagles and deer as well. Took trips to Traverse City, which was about 20 minutes away. Saw the Blue Angels practicing for the Cherry Festival to be held July 1. Very cool. Went to Moomer's Ice Cream Shop and Dairy Farm, about 30 minutes away. Many great shopping areas, nearby grocery stores, restaurants, salons, etc. We enjoyed grilling at the cottage as well and the nightly fires at the fire pit. Tubing at Sleeping Bear Dunes and visiting Mackinac Island are great day trips one could take. We were there for R&R and enjoying nature and all the lake had to offer, and that is just what we got. We will look forward to going back to Rennie Lake again.
