Gorgeous South Florida Sunsets from the pool or dock. This quaint and fun property is perfectly situated. From the dock you can be boating on the Caloosahatchee River in minutes and this wonderful property has no bridges at all to the main river. Centrally located you are minutes from shopping, restaurants, Tarpon Bay Marina, Bimini Basin and the beach. If you do not want to rent a car you don't have to, everything is accessible by bicycle! It's a great way to lay back and relax enjoying the salty Florida air. If you do rent a car, you will be only 20 minutes from famous Fort Myers Beach, where the sunsets are fabulous and the seafood hot pots are to die for, not to mention the night life! Or take the slow road 20 minutes north to Matlacha, there you can rent kayaks and tour the slow shallow waters of the eco-park. You will see a variety of wild life and end your evening eating fresh seafood at the local seafood stores. Just pull the kayak in and get settled in and enjoy that beer! Sanibel Island and Coyo Costa are also 20 minutes away by car or by boat! They are some of the best beaches around, the shelling is wonderful. The waters are warm and the snorkeling is great too. Of course lets not forget the deep sea fishing and boating! Boats can be rented at a reasonable rate for the day! Once you get through the "miserable mile" ( to protect our beautiful manatees) you have open waters to fish and explore! There is nothing quite like Cape Coral, once you try it you will be back to our small part of heaven again and again.

Awesome and relaxing retreat!
This rental was just what we needed. We enjoyed coffee on the dock in the mornings while watching the tide go out, and the lanai was perfect for relaxing with a book. There was more than enough room for our family of four and we enjoyed the open concept floor plan and views out to the backyard and canal. The kitchen was well stocked with all of the kitchen utensils and cooking gadgets necessary. It is nicely located near Sanibel Island and Fort Meyers Beach, and is within walking distance to a nice grocery store. We would definitely plan to revisit this peaceful house on our next trip to the area.
Very Nice Property!
My wife and I traveled with our two teenage kids and found this property to be well maintained, clean, quiet and private. The key was exactly as promised and easily accessible. The home was well equipped with the necessities often taken for granted. We restocked what we used but we were pleased with all that was provided.Neighborhood was very nice. Centrally located to beaches and attractions, full service grocery store within easy walking distance.
The interior was clean and well equipped. The WiFi performed well and the property had an extensive TV channel list. The furnishings were clean and comfortable and with 3 large bedrooms and 2 baths, the necessary privacy for teenage dignity was MUCH appreciated.
In the backyard, there was a classic "Florida Room" that provided well furnished and comfortable screened area that was perfect for enjoying a fresh cup of coffee in the morning and a crisp glass of wine in the evening.
Beyond the Florida Room there was a well maintained fenced backyard that led to a wonderful dock. The kids LOVED being able to fish from the backyard. The waterway was quiet, tranquil and relaxing, especially for us landlocked travelers. As nice as the Florida Room was, I must admit it was quite tranquil and relaxing to sit directly on the water and watch as time seemed to slow...
In all, we would definitely stay here again and would unconditionally recommend this property.
A great location for our Gulf Coast vacation
This property and its location worked out well for our group of four. It was sparkling clean when we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked with appropriate dishes, silverware, pots, pans and so on. The beds, bedding and towels were fine. The two bathrooms were in good working order and had plenty of hot water. We especially enjoyed the dining area for both eating and the evening marathon card games we played. The open area leading to the lanai was great for reading and relaxing. The lanai was even better for that. The dock on the canal was a good place to sit and enjoy the wonderful Florida spring weather. We would certainly consider a future stay here.
Our stay could have been better. There was a decided lack of furniture. The real issue was that there was a rather scary electrical problem. The electricity went out on the Friday and then returned until Saturday when the public utility had to be called. They disconnected the power until an electrician could fix the problem which apparently was that the wires coming into the house from the electrical pole were burned out. This could have caused a fire in the house. This was a very unsafe situation. Even after the public electric company turned the power back on we were told that the problem was not properly repaired and it would not pass inspection. This caused us some concern that there could still have been a fire during the rest of our stay. Over and above this problem many of the electrical outlets in the house were not properly attached to the walls which also is a fire hazard. There was also an issue where the bathtub didn't drain. Our company had to use the toilet plunger and then remove a large clog of hair etc. It was really gross. We strongly feel that we should be compensated for the stress that we endured for most or our stay.
The neighbors were really nice-thank goodness. Got there-no manual for anything. Didn't know internet password. Had to wait 2 days for that. No hot water in master bath (which was so small you could barely turn around in it). When finally got some hot water- none in shower. Manager had to call owners to find out head had to be twisted "a certain way." That way was on the cold side! Electricity went out EVERYDAY! Stove and fridge on that circuit. Had food that went bad. Took 3 weeks for manager to get someone out. Electrician changed out board and switched switches-now my internet along with stove and fridge went out everyday. Sometimes multiple time sometimes for hours. Went out while I had guests over. Manager acted like he was upset too but never heard back from him when I said something compensatory needs to happen. Instead, on my last day his assistant called to see when I was going to be out of there 3 hours prior to my checkout time (saying she had someone checking in at 1 pm!) I told her I needed to hear from manager and still have not. Neighbors said the renters prior to me were not happy with house either. These owners need to make compensation for all of the inconveniences. Also the lights on the lanai wouldn't turn on and the bulb in master bedroom was out. To replace I would've had to unscrew -don't pack a screwdriver. Told manager, nothing happened. Dock doesn't have ladder which is illegal and made it virtually impossible to do my SUP.
Thank you for the review, it is always difficult to manage a property remotely as this is our vacation home. In this I appreciate any comments that give us insights into the property management company that we are currently using and their performance. As for the electrical, as this is a home, things often require maintenance, it was obviously unfortunate timing that the electrical should have problems while a guest was in the house. As far as check-in and check-out times they are clearly posted on VRBO.
Loved the morning coffees on the dock with the dolphins! the fenced yard was perfect for our dogs. The location is very close to conveniences of the the grocery stores as well as down town restaurants and live music! had a great time at the Saturday morning farmer's market...great beaches just minutes away. We will certainly come back!
The house is located in the Yacht Club area, and has direct access to the Westin Resort Eco -Park and the Tarpon Bay Marina. In addition you are 5 minutes away by boat or by car to the famous Bimini Basin and its park and beach recreation area, there you can see a spectacular firework display or the famous parade of Boats at Christmas time.
