This lovely one-bedroom apartment was completely renovated in July 2015.
The new design is by renowned Milan architecture firm Mogg.
All the structural components are brand new; the decor includes new purchases and several antiques, family heirlooms.
It features a beautiful fully equipped custom-made Italian kitchen, with an electric oven and 4 gas knobs, plus all kitchen utensils one may need (glasses, silverware, pots, pans, baking dishes, etc.).
The bathroom includes a large clear glass shower, and a bidet.
The bedroom is decorated with a brand new queen-sized bed (160 cm/63"), a 19th century armoire and and and an 18th century writing table.
The living room has a Provencal-style table for 4/6 people, and a brand new sofa which doubles as a comfortable sofa bed for 2 (140 cm/55").
The ceiling features exposed wood-beams; in the living area, we were able to retrieve and refurbish the original building's wood.
Our apartment is part of a lovely building complex dating back to the 17th century. Upon arrival you will see a lovely stone portal; when you step inside, you'll find yourself in a quaint little common courtyard. If you so desire, you can enjoy an alfresco dinner or breakfast down there, we have a cute table for two and chairs. One flights of steps, and you'll be inside.
We have our own private parking for the evenings after 5 pm, and all day on Saturday and Sunday. During the day, the spot is first-come first-served (you don't need to move if you are parked already, but may or may not find it available before 5 pm if you come and go)
Unfortunately there are no direct lake views, but our large windows face a lush, green mountain.
The Lake is literally just across the street, with a perfect lovely beach just 3 minutes away on foot.
The location could not be more perfect as a base for excursion in the Central Lake Como area. It is minutes away from the world-renowned Villa Carlotta, Lenno, Menaggio, Argegno, etc.
There are amazing hiking trails, excellent restaurants, boats or bicycles for hire, windsurfing and kitesurfing, etc.
Several spectacular public and private beaches are at a stone throw.
Bellagio is 15 minutes away by ferry, we are literally across from it.
Como is 45 minutes away, and the drive down to town is breathtakingly beautiful - every little town you go through deserves a visit.
Carmen lived in the apartment herself until July 2015, and is a licensed tour guide for the area - she will be more than pleased to give you all kinds of ideas about what to do.
We are looking forward to having you stay with us!
