Bearkat Mountain Cabin with Pool Table and Cable TV

Bedrooms 5
Space 3,000 sq ft
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

5 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, Sleeps 14, Built in 2014

Bearkat Cabin is a mountain vacation destination built in 2014. Located 2 miles west of the Homestead resort. It is just 3 1/2 miles from downtown Midway and Ridley's Deli. This mountain retreat has 3000 ft.² for your family's enjoyment. Sitting in a canyon with quiet surroundings and an open view of Wasatch Mountain State Park you will enjoy the solitude of this beautiful Rocky Mountain vacation getaway.

The cabin has five bedrooms and three 3/4 bathrooms, one on each level. Each bedroom has a queen-size bed. The full basement has a futon that opens into a double bed. All bed and bath linens are provided and there are extra blankets, sheets and pillows. In the walkout downstairs are cable TV with 100 channels, a pool table and an area to play games. A second TV is on the main floor. Large decks on the east and west side offer a place to relax or barbecue. The laundry room has washer and dryer. It offers plenty of parking for vehicles or toys (The long driveway can hold at least 8 vehicles).

There are numerous restaurants in the area but when you want to stay in and cook the kitchen is well-equipped with all the basic cooking utensils and pans, a refrigerator, microwave oven, toaster, and double oven. After you are done you can use the dishwasher or do the dishes in the double sink.

It is a one hour drive to Salt Lake City and LDS Church Museums and Genealogy Library. BYU is thirty miles away. Park City's historic main street for shopping, outlet stores and Olympic Park are just over the hill. Three golf courses are within a few miles: my favorite is Wasatch Mountain State Park with 36 holes of challenging terrain. Utah ski resorts provide recreation opportunities in winter or summer. Hike to Stewart Falls, Cascade Springs or Silver Lake to name a few destinations. Water recreation is abundant: rent a boat or jet ski at nearby Deer Creek State Park or Jordanelle Reservoir, fish the Provo River or start with a class on fly fishing in Heber City.

We do not rent the cabin from December 1 to March 20 as the roads are not plowed.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Midway cabin. It was a little difficult to find our first day, even with our map and GPS, but no problem after the initial find. Lots of room for our family with plenty of comfortable sleeping arrangements. The kitchen was well equipped with dishes and cooking equipment; the pantry was very well stocked with basic food items; plus plenty of towels and bedding, etc. in the rest of the house. We would certainly consider staying here again for our next reunion.

Great Place for a Large Family or Group of Friends

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was really nice and clean for the 9 of us. The living room created an amazing community space. There were plenty of beds for all. The pool table was a lot of fun.. The kitchen worked well for the group but a little tight. Owner was friendly and was willing to address any issues we had.

We loved the cabin and the area!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin and area provided a perfect setting to get the family together. With the families many interests, and adventure so close, everyone loved it. Golfing, hiking, cookouts, fly fishing, games, a Heber train ride, and a visit to the Olympic park we're all highlights. We also joined in the small town memorial celebration with the fun run, memorial ride and service. It was very well done and a great small town feel. The cabin was very nice!! We would love to return!!

What a wonderful place to stay!! We came for a family reunion and absolutely loved it!

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful cabin was such a wonderful place to stay! The trees outside made the experience like we were camping. Inside there was plenty of room for our family. The amenities and the decor were so modern and up-to-date. The cabin is lots bigger than I thought it would be. The owners were wonderful to work with. Our family plans to stay here again. I highly recommend this place!

Love This Log Home!

  • 5 of 5

This wonderful log home was perfectly situated for all our activities in and around the Heber Valley and Park City. It had all the amenities we needed, and we couldn't have asked for a more gracious and easily accessible landlord, Barrie Nielson. The home is on a beautiful spot, surrounded by forest, and although there were other cabins close by, we felt very secluded and quiet - except for our excited grandchildren who had fun exploring the surrounding area! Although the home does not have internet service, we were able to use our Sprint hot spot without problems. We recommend it highly, and thank the Nielson's for making our family reunion such a cherished memory!!

The best thing about this cabin is the feeling of solitude. You drive through a mountain subdivision to get to the cabin. Once you pull down the driveway and go inside you feel that you are high in the mountains and removed from everything.
