SeaBreeze - San Diego
Ruined Vacation-Avoid Seabreeze Rentals at all costs!
This is a direct quite from my request for compensation from the rental company...
"When we arrived we were confronted by filthy carpet, cracked and dirty switch plates, scuffed and dinged walls and dirty baseboards. The patio glass on the balcony was splattered with what looked like bird feces. The stove had a broken knob and the knobs were encased in grease. The shower curtain in the master bath was stained, the one in bath 2 was ripped and the upstairs toiled cracked in the middle of the night that flooded the upstairs. The anchor for the pull for the shade for the folding doors was unlodged from the wall. The washing machine would not complete a hot cycle without having to be restarted. The folding doors were inoperable for a day due to the weatherstripping becoming dislodged and stuck, which was awful because we had NO AC the ENTIRE TIME we were there. The units couldn't be operated at the same time and blew warm air, as was witnessed by one of our employees. When contacted about these issues, employees were unresponsive and untruthful. Our vacation was ruined. One would not have to call/contact property management daily in an attempt to get issues resolved. I am requesting compensation for our complete amount as you did not fulfill your responsibilities as a property management company, service provider. The unit was not as described and amenities as described were not provided."
Close to the Beach and Smells
The positives: The ocean is very close and the open air porch is nice. The apartment was clean. There are some nice shops, a grocery store, & CVS within walking distance.
The negatives: The apartment is right on the green where homeless sleep and there are wild parties late into the evening. That might be a positive for some, but it isn't that great for young families as it is hard to go to sleep. Also, there is a significant amount of cannabis smoking, so it pretty much always smells. The HVAC system didn't work - gave an error and wouldn't turn on. The wireless password didn't work. I tried to get help from the managers, but they just gave me the same non-working password. The kitchen is very minimally stocked, so if you plan on cooking you'll need everything including coffee filters, plastic wrap, foil, spices, etc.
