Paradise in a quiet setting

  • 5 of 5

Imagine Nevis ....and then imagine more and you are sitting on the lovely veranda of this spectacular home. It has a view of the sea and st. Kitts on one side and the heights of mount Nevis on the other. We loved the many palm and flowering plants that attract quite a variety of birds. It's a birders delight, without leaving your seat! A perfect spot to catch the steady, cooling Nevis breeze.

The house is nestled in a private hillside spot. It is a very comfortable space and had every amenity we needed, including washer/dryer, dishwasher and air conditioning( not even needed.)

There is an artful sense to the decorating from the fixtures to the oil paintings, apparently created by the owner. These many pieces are displayed throughout the house and capture the texture and colors of Nevisian life.

Nevis itself is a wonderful place, with a welcoming and non-touristy feel. We enjoy outdoor fun and swam, kayaked, snorkeled, hiked/walked...and relaxed! We ate well, either cooking in or eating out at the variety of good restaurants. There were a lot of wildlife and botanical sightings, with monkeys, donkeys and goats to entertain. For the history buff, there are restored sugar mill plantations to explore along with the still horrifying story of their foundation of slavery.

We will definitely return to Nevis and this great home.

This smallest of small islands in the Caribbean offers a wealth of activities- from beach rambles- to rainforest hikes- to visiting its rich historical sites... And when you seek rest, come to this well situated, quiet home. All amenities provide a convenient and comfortable stay. What could be more inspiring than watching the sun set from the deck across the infinity swimming pool? We recommend this property highly for its location, comfort, attention to detail, and beauty.

Relaxing and peaceful paradise

WOW! This was an amazing place to stay! The sea spread out above the infinity pool, and the volcano rising up behind the house. Walking paths lead out from the house, and snorkeling a short walk away

Fabulous Saginor Island Retreat

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a week on Nevis at the Saginor’s island retreat and had a lovely relaxing time. Nevis is one of the smaller less populated islands in the Caribbean and very quaint and charming.

The house was one of the highlights of our stay. It has a great location with a plantation feel. The house has three bedrooms, large kitchen and is very confortable with a large porch with ocean views. The property is on a big lot and very private. There is also a view of Mt. Nevis from the front porch. At days end we watched the lovely sunset from the back porch with a rum drink or glass of wine and appetizers.

We enjoy hiking and found some hiking trails nearby. We also went to Lovers beach, which is a 5-minute drive. It is a quiet beach perfect for swimming or having a picnic.

Downtown is fun. We went to a few art galleries.

The Golden Rock Plantation Hotel is not too far by car and a must see. Beautiful lush green grounds all around to walk through after enjoying lunch or dinner-delicious!

Highly recommend it. We look forward to it again.
