Great Downtown Savannah Rental
Great place. Really close to the Grocery store 10 minute walk to Forsyth Park. Would definitely stay here again.
Savannah has pockets of rougher neighborhoods. I was concerned about that when we first booked, this house is in a good area for our family. The house was well kept. We had some trouble with the WiFi and keycode. I didn’t receive the key code ( I received an email from home away that said “Here are the keys to your Historic District - South, Savannah, GA, USA trip!” I never opened it until we got to the rental. I assumed it was the key code, but it wasn’t. I called the property manger at night and quickly received the code. The WiFi code was also provided but the WiFi is slow and it kept kicking off our phones. Not really that big of a deal. I may feel differently if it was a raining trip, but there was plenty to do in Savannah, we didn’t need WiFi. Very responsive staff. I also ask for the checkout proceeded (like empty the trash, set the temp, etc) but the staff never sent that. Nice property
Was so impressed with the place! As a first timer to Savannah, I wasn't sure what to expect. Beautiful, historic city. The place isn't downtown, but a short walk to the free bus, a few minute ride you're there. Loved the stay!!
Long Savannah Weekend
The photos are accurate, this is a nicely furnished modern property. The location is convenient for local sightseeing and there is a supermarket one block away. The property is located at an intersection of two arterials, so if you are a light sleeper this could be problematic. The one negative I would call out is the air conditioning. We followed the "house rules" and did not set the thermostat below 70 degrees. and we found the upstairs bedrooms very uncomfortable for sleeping at night. At home, we have the temperature set to 72 degrees and are perfectly comfortable, so I believe there is either an issue with the thermostat or the AC unit itself.
Comfortable, nice location, amenities are modest
The property was as advertised and very convenient to the Savannah Historic District. It was close to a grocery store and Forsyth Park. It did not have a high level of amenities in the kitchen, minimal towels, detergents, etc.
Glad you had a great time and enjoyed your stay! I'm so sorry if you felt we didn't leave enough supplies for you. We try to leave a healthy supply of soap, shampoo, dish detergent, dishwasher pods, toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags as well as all of the utensils and implements one would need to prepare basic meals at the home. We provide one set of towels for each guest who could be sleeping in the home, in this case 8, and laundry machines in the home. I apologize if you don't feel this is adequate so if you decide to stay with us again just let us know and we'll do what we can to get you some additional supplies.
The neighborhood this property is located in is about equal distance from the famous Forsyth Park and Mother Matilda Beasley Park, which honors the first nun of African-American descent in Georgia. Forsyth Park is, of course, one of the famous settings of the book and film "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil." It is known for its iron fountain that was built with the Paris grand fountain as a model. Another nearby historical attraction is the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. The church was constructed between 1873 and 1876 and is a beautiful display of French Gothic architecture. You won't want to leave Savannah without taking a visit to River Street. Nine blocks of brick walkway is a great place to simply walk or watch ships come in. It's also packed with restaurants, boutiques and galleries.
