Overview

About the property

3 Bedroom, 2 Bath With Wrap Around Deck And Mountain Views

Custom cabin was lovingly built by hand over several years, completed in 2011. From the hand carved woodworking in the spindles, to the copper sinks and the way the sun passes over the wrap around deck, every aspect of this cabin was expertly designed to maximize mountain relaxation.

Cabin is situated on a private road shared with the owner, and your nearest neighbors will the owners' alpacas, llamas, goats, chickens and pig, who are in pastures down the hill from you. A mile-long hiking/running trail passes right by the cabin and meanders through the woods, up and down the mountain past berry patches and pastures.

If you're looking for a quiet, peaceful mountain retreat where you can watch the sun go to bed in the Blue Ridge Mountains every night, this is your place.

Upstairs master suite includes queen size bed and a loft with a reclining couch. Ground floor includes kitchen, full bath dining area, living room with pull-out sofa bed and two bedrooms -- one with twin size bunk beds and one with two queen-size beds. Cabin is ideal for families with children. It is not suitable for parties.

Washer/dryer in basement.

We are located 10 minutes to downtown Weaverville or Mars Hill, and 15 minutes to downtown Asheville. Families visiting the Asheville Academy for Girls will enjoy the cabin's quiet location only 6 miles from campus.

We are sorry, but we cannot accommodate pets, smoking, or large parties. Thanks for understanding.

About Lori Atkins Quigley and Steve Atkins

Brother and sister Steve Atkins and Lori Atkins Quigley care for this cabin, which was custom built by their father in 2011. Steve lives off the same private road, where he fell in love with the mountain as a bucolic backdrop for his gentlemen's farm.

This photo shows one of the traffic jams you may experience on your way up the mountain!

Ok

Great spot and will be a nice rental but needs some finish work. Directions are great and the owner is friendly. Water became an issue but was taken care of in a decent timeframe.

Place for family time

  • 4 of 5

This was a great cabin for a small family reunion. 22 minutes outside of Asheville, we could still drive to downtown for a nice lunch then come home to the cabin to enjoy the country. Woke up to horses grazing in the yard, which we loved.

Beautiful, but not a great fit for my family

  • 3 of 5

The property was very beautiful, clean, and modern. It was a nice secluded spot and the view of sunsets were outstanding.

We had a 1 year old with us- they provided a pack and play and high chair which was awesome. Aside from that it is not really babyproofed. On the main level the baby could go at both sets of stairs, and it was tiring to manage that. They provided toys in the basement, which were great for my 3, 5 and 6 year olds-thank you! Board games and puzzles were well stocked. We didn't venture outside much accept for the balcony. Each day we went into Asheville and the kids were miserable on the car rides. 30-40 min each way and the mountain curves had them all car sick.

It is truly a great property, these small factors did not make it great for us.

Perfect Girls' Weekend

  • 4 of 5

This is a really cute, well equipped house. We had everything we needed for a relaxing girls' weekend. The cabin was very clean and worked well for 5 women. We cooked one night and found everything we needed in the kitchen. We loved seeing the animals and enjoyed sitting on the spacious porch. The owner was great and super flexible, which was really appreciated! She responded quickly and was easy to work with. Thank you!!

An absolutely breathtaking place!

  • 5 of 5

This home is equipped with everything you need for a weekend getaway. The house itself is absolutely beautiful and tucked away to give you that mountain-feel. Downtown Asheville was only a short ride away and made exploring throughout the day very easy! Will definitely book this property again!
