About the property

Arts 'n Crafts Home Close to Everything But Tucked Behind the Blue Ridge!

Beautiful Arts 'n Crafts Style Cottage!

I have a beautiful 1 bedroom house with 1 full bath for two adults. There is also a futon in the loft space for another guest to sleep if needed. I love children, but this space is for adults only. Please be aware that there is an in-law unit attached in the back. Please be respectful of the privacy of each space. Both spaces are private with separate entrances.

Why choose my space:

--The "feel" of the space is one of peaceful quiet and thoughtful design. You will feel it as soon as you walk in.

--Everything is new, cozy and comfortable.

--Along with being a writer, providing an exceptional guest experience is part of my livelihood. I thoroughly enjoy meeting new people, getting them acquainted with the beauty and fun of Asheville, and providing any level of connection with which you are comfortable. I'm as available as you need me to be. I can check in daily through text/email/phone or step back completely until you ask for assistance.

--You can walk to the Blue Ridge Parkway and hike the Mountain to Sea trail every morning.

--The house is exactly 6.5 miles (7 minutes) from all the downtown restaurants, music, breweries and activities.

--The quiet, lovely little neighborhood is on a cul-de-sac type loop with little to no traffic.

--On the less congested east side of Asheville...away from the hustle-bustle when you are ready to bring a close to your day.

-Washer and Dryer

-Stainless Steel appliances

-Concrete counter tops

-Cable TV and Excellent/consistent Wi-fi

-Fully equipped kitchen

-New queen-sized Simmons top of the line mattress

-Central heat and air

-Private porch with Adirondack chairs

-Walk in closet in bedroom

Looking for:

Quiet, non-smoking, no drugs, no drama, no pets. Please purchase travel insurance if you are concerned about anything changing your plans...especially for weather. A big snow event can be frustrating and possibly cause a cancellation due to inability to get to Asheville.

A mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway and I-40

Tucked away on a quiet looped street (my friends all comment on how quiet it is here)

5 miles to the Biltmore Estate

6.5 miles from downtown

Walk to the Mountain to Sea trail

I am about 5 miles from the Biltmore Estate, 25 minutes from the airport, 2 minutes from I-40 and 240 to get anywhere easily, a 2 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway near the Visitors' Center and 2 minutes from Shoji Spa overlooking the Parkway. Asheville has the best weather, music, breweries, wine shops, restaurants, art studios, festivals, outdoor events and wildlife. Everything is here! I love it!

About Karen

Hi all,

I'm a Southern girl by birth but lived in California for ten years (LA and then San Francisco) before realizing I missed the stunning vision of a dogwood tree blooming in a forest of oaks and pine. Had to move back this way and was lucky enough to land in Asheville! This place is full of great food, music, art, and people...I love it! I've circumnavigated the world and know this to be the best spot to live.

Basics about me: Got my undergraduate degree at FSU, graduate degree at Vanderbilt, worked for the Peace Corps in Namibia, Africa, worked as a professional musician in Nashville, I've written and published my memoir and I'm looking for that next big hike in the back country. Life is stunningly beautiful!

Karen purchased this house in 2010

Why Karen chose Asheville

I always wanted to build my own house and when I moved to Asheville, I did! I designed it to meet my aesthetic needs for peaceful space and an open feel with Arts 'n Crafts details. Hardwood floors, concrete counter tops, a real fireplace, a loft up in the trees and a platform bed were on the "must-have" list. It's a sanctuary and everyone feels it when they walk in. Perfect acoustics for a musician! Walk to the Blue Ridge Parkway for a daily hike.

Car: necessary

4 Parkway Loop is located in a quiet and woodsy cul-de-sac neighborhood with established residents and walking distance from Blue Ridge Parkway trails. We are five minutes from the fun of downtown, the Biltmore House and other Asheville attractions, but tucked away for cozy solitude when needed.

If you look for the house on Google Maps, you won't find it. Since the house is on a private road, the last time the Google Map car came down our road was in 2008. I bought the property in 2009, tore down the small house that was there and built my beautiful dream house you see in the photos here. If you would feel more comfortable talking with me, please don't hesitate to call. Thank you!
