About Lin

I was born and raised in New Orleans Bywater area. I love my city and look forward to sharing with you!

Why Lin chose Treme - Lafitte

This location is accessible to everything by walking, new street car line, bike, uber, etc.... Jazz was born in Treme'. Even being from New Orleans, the rich culture of this neighborhood makes me glow with excitement. Jazz funerals process through the neighborhood, second line bands frequently march through, children play and practice drumming and stilt walking at the nearby community center. Its just an awesome location and I hope to share it with you.

Cute and quaint in the best of it all!

  • 5 of 5

Initially I had concerns about the neighborhood. But it's in a good location to everything Nola. The house was clean, quiet, well furnished and inviting. I loved the bikes that were right outside. A few blocks away is amazing food. And the amenities were beyond what I expected. I will visit again.

In town for the first weekend of Jazz Fest

  • 5 of 5

First, my communications with the owner Lin were great. She always got back to me via email same day. The explanations she provided ahead of the stay were on point and easy to understand.

We arrived late Thursday night (Friday morning really,). Getting in the house was explained well and we got in easy on the first try. The house is very nicely furnished and felt very homey. Mornings out back on the patio with coffee, back out there late at night for philosophical discussions. Well worth the cost.

Fit our needs but...

  • 3 of 5

This cottage is adorable and very nicely decorated. It felt homey. The actual beds were comfy in my opinion. The a/c worked very well. I loved the fans in each room. We used the kitchen quite a bit so it was also nice having pots/pans, utensils, etc. available for use. However, I had to deduct 2 stars because of the cleanliness of the floor and the bathroom. I love walking barefoot or with socks on when I’m home. After walking around the house for a short time our feet/socks were dirty. In the bathroom it looked as if it needed a good scrubbing, sweeping, and mopping. Also note that this neighborhood is undergoing changes. During the day it feels safe walking around but at night I wouldn’t recommend it. Uber/Lyft straight to the door.

Owner's Response: Hi Marlene, sorry you had such an unpleasant experience. We are a family business and one of the things we take pride in is assuring that our property is clean. We actually do a thorough cleaning after each guests departure to assure our guests all have the same clean fresh experience. We do occasionally use an oil based cleaner to protect the wood floors and keep them looking good. I suspect this is what may have collected on your socks. I will take a look at the bathroom and see what improvements we can make as our guests feedback is very important to us. Also, no matter where you are in New Orleans I highly recommend taking Uber/Lyft at night. Unfortunately, as with many major cities across the U.S., NOLA suffers from crime problem. Even in what may appear to be the best of neighborhoods you must be cautious of your surroundings. Thank you for your feedback.

The house is comfortable and excellent for walking to the FQ 3 blocks away.

Lin is available for any questions that you may have. The house was clean, cozy, and conveniently located. Nice to have on street parking. We were always able to park close by the house if we drove anywhere. But again the location was perfect for a walking into the French Quarter.
