Great House in great street
Great location for family ( party of 5) at Christmas . All the facilities you could possibly imagine within a 3 mile radius, live sport , theatre , fireworks , restaurants ,pubs, shops, walks, tube etc etc .
Great location, but shabby and noisy
The house was pretty messy and run down: every shelf and cupboard was filled with papers, garbage, old shoes, a pack of cigarettes, bottles of open booze. The upstairs mattress needs replacing, and the house could use paint.
We wish we had been notified at some point that the home adjoining was undergoing complete renovation. From 8-5 every day during the week, the noise was awful. If we had known we would have chosen a different place.
Beautiful home in great neighborhood
The house is really charming, tastefully decorated and on a quiet mews street, one block off the lively Kings Road. In my opinion, Chelsea is the best place to stay in London. When we were there the house next door was being gutted, so we were woken by construction noise that went on all day long; terrible when you are getting over jet-lag. I understand that one can't be responsible for what goes on in neighboring homes, but I do feel we should have been told about it ahead of time.
There was no trash can in the kitchen, nor trash bags, only recycling bags. Although both the trash and recycling get picked up on the street twice a week, it would be so much better to have receptacles with lids to store the trash and recycling in until the night before pickup. I was not surprised my daughter saw a mouse in the kitchen one night when we had no option but to leave our trash bag on the floor.
It was unusually hot at the beginning of July. There was a fan in each bedroom, but the one on the top floor needed to be more powerful and having a separate top sheet in addition to the duvet in it's cover would given sleeping options depending whether it was a hot or cool night. The weather was definitely too hot to sleep with a heavy duvet. I also thought there was too much paperwork in booking the house, it just added unnecessarily to the stress of traveling when I kept receiving so much paperwork to print out.
So there were definitely a few things the management company could tweak to provide a better stay for their guests. The house, though, is lovely with a very well appointed kitchen, including oven, microwave, washer and dryer. There were also useful appliances such as a good vacuum cleaner, iron and hairdryer. I especially liked the beautiful daylight in the dining room from the skylights above. The rooftop patio on the top floor was also a delightful space. The location, the house and it's furnishings were all really superb. I would definitely like to stay there again if there was a guarantee that those minor annoyances had been addressed.
Wonderful Apartment, Great Location
Well appointed 3 bedroom apartment in a great location in London's Sloan Sq/South Kensington area. Highly recommended.
Thank you very much for your review and recommendation. We're happy to hear that you enjoyed the location of the property and your time in London!
Excellent flat in Chelsea away from hotels
We loved the location. In the heart of Chelsea, we were a half block from an organic grocer and a bakery. We were a block from Kings Road and all of the shopping and energy of this busy street. We were a brisk walk from two tube stations.
Regarding the flat: 1. The washer, dryer, and dishwasher are hidden by the kitchen cabinetry and work very well. 2. Electric adapters are plentiful and helpful for guests across the world. 3. The space of three levels was important for traveling with teens 4. The driver suggested by the management was prompt and nice. 5. Ricardo, a local manager, met us at the flat and reviewed the workings of the flat. 6. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils including a coffee maker and electric tea kettle with tea bags.
We loved being in a real neighborhood away from hotels. It is a quiet, cute, and upscale neighborhood.
Thank you very much for your feedback. We're glad that you were pleased with the service you received as well as the convenient location and amenities provided at the property. We hope you will return to stay with us again!
Sloane Square is one of the most desirable areas in central London. This reputation is due to the fine restaurants, shopping, excellent transportation, and fine houses and flats. Sloane Square Tube Station has both the Central and District lines which offer excellent transportation throughout the city. There is one real benefit to living in the residential areas around Sloane Square, it is quiet. The location is amazing. A short distance to the Duke of York Plaza on King’s Road, and ten minutes to Harrods. Carafini, a very famous Italian restaurant, is just on the corner, and along Lower Sloane Street a visitor will find an Italian market, a small food market, a tailor, and wonderful antique shops; some of the finest in London. Some of London’s finest antique shops and designer shops are along Pimlico Road and Holbein Place. These include Lord Linley’s retail store. The historic Royal Hospital of Charles II is around the corner, and a lovely walk through Eaton Square is five minutes distance. It is perfect. I love the walk up Sloane Street past Cadogan Square and the old Cadogan Hotel. Lilly Langtree lived on Pont Street, just up the way.
