This Canadian Rockies townhome is situated at the gateway to the Banff National Park. It is within an easy driving distance from the town of Banff and Mt. Norquay (15 minutes) and boasts spectacular mountain views. Hiking and mountain biking trailheads are right outside your doorstep. There are several amenities within walking distance; restaurants, a local chocolatier, wine and beer shop, local coffee shop and convenience store.
Our hiking season is here! For your safety Parks Canada recommends you always travel in groups in the mountain parks, and that you carry bear spray.
Middle Sister Lodge is a 3 bedroom walk-up with 2 bathrooms and sleeps a family of 4-6 people. The nicely appointed kitchen with nook has new stainless steel appliances and is fully equipped so truly a home away from home. The bathrooms are clean, fresh and stocked with towels, hairdryer, soap and shampoo. Linens are provided for sleeping. The master bedroom features a Queen locally crafted log bed and the 2 others are furnished with twin beds for the children. The townhome has its own laundry facilities for your convenience. There are a large living and dining room with woodburning fireplace. In addition, there is a heated garage and WIFI.
THINGS TO DO AND SEE:
There is an abundance of outdoor activities within a 20 minute drive and for those visitors who enjoy an afternoon drive; explore a little further afield to Lake Louise, Johnston Canyon falls and the Canadian Icefields for some of the most spectacular scenic mountain drives in the world. In the summer, children will love horseback riding at the nearby stables, canoeing or river-rafting, bird-watching and in the winter, resort downhill or cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and dog-sledding. Hikers will love to explore the triad of provincial and national parks in the area and for those who want to stay closer to home; Middle Sister Lodge is only minutes away from trailheads exploring Cougar Creek and Mount Lady MacDonald. There is also fly and rod fishing and a nearby golf course for the sportsman in your family. During the summer months, there is a market on (wed/thurs) selling local produce, cheese, and baked goods among local artisans selling carvings, jewellery, and other objets d'art. During the fall, there are the Highland games, the Banff film festival(Mid-September) and beautiful autumn colours to look forward to.
