About Ron VanBlijenburgh

We think that Green River Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in Kentucky. The shoreline is unspoiled and very natural. We enjoy boating there during the summer months. There is some great fishing on this lake and many people will fish almost year round, even during the colder months. We love that Green River State Park offers picnic tables, playground, and a campground beach for swimming.

Why Ron VanBlijenburgh chose Campbellsville

This property is located very convenient to the State Park and Marina boat ramps as well as State Park camp grounds. This rental is great for many reasons... to have weekend get away, weekend boating trip, to stay if you have family in surrounding areas, or if you have friends or family staying State Park Campground since you'd be within minutes of each other. There is plenty of room to park any size boat and we even offer seasonal or year round boat storage. There is a covered porch and a large fire pit to roast marshmallows.

What makes this cabin unique

Property is located directly across the street from Green River State Park entrance and is only about 5 miles from grocery, restaurants, and many other stores. Some restaurants offer delivery to the property. Plus, there are two FREE boat launch sties, one at the State Park and one at the Marina.

Great location for fishermen

  • 4 of 5

Friend and I took my boat down for s long weekend of fishing. Perfect location for lake access and to park the boat. The inside of the cabin is very nice. The cabin needs a kitchen/dinning room table or I would have given it 5 stars. Four people I would say is the max for the cabin. Plenty of hiking trails and other park attractions if you get tired of fishing.

Weekend getaway

  • 4 of 5

Aside from electrical issues in parts of the kitchen, it is a great spot. Owner worked with us on the issues, quickly responded and was very nice. Property has everything you need and is SO close to the river. Had a blast

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. The electrical issue was a loose wire in the electrical panel. All wires have been inspected and all is good now. We are glad you enjoyed your stay.

Close to the water, easy access to the lake, cozy clean lodge

  • 4 of 5

Such a nice little place to stay, close to the water, the group we had there has so much fun and plenty of room to sleep, the kitchen was so open and still felt included with the people in the living room, the only problem we had was we didn't have running water for about 18 hours but so did the city and county because of flooding.

Basic, smelly.

  • 1 of 5

I received an email from the owner that stated we were not getting our deposit back due to the following: furniture being moved to include the fridge, stove and tv. also that not all the dishes were washed. If there were dishes not washed I don't know where the owner found them. I did move the fridge and stove to clean underneath. I moved the tv because we used our own TV's. I thought I returned it to its original place. I reread the contract and did not see anywhere that we couldn't move the furniture.

Now the toilet did back up and the floor was wet. we cleaned up the floor and cleaned the carpet as much as possible. However, the toilet was having trouble from the beginning, we had to buy a plunger. The next thing, owner stated they had to professional clean the carpet but the carpet was old and dingy from the beginning.

If I would have known that we would have been critiqued so hard I would have did a pre-inspection to indicate the condition of the place on day of arrival. I believe we left the home cleaner than what we found it.

I would not recommend renting this place. You will experience toilet problems.

Owner's Response: We have rented from others on VRBO for many years and have been renting to others on VRBO for about 2 years. We have never had an issue before, not with the toilet. We had a small ceiling water leak at one time, during torrential rains, and fixed it immediately. We can understand that sometimes things happen that can cause a toilet to overflow, but we were never notified. (When we rent from others, whether VRBO or a hotel, we call to inform there is an issue.) When we went in to clean to prepare for our next guests, the carpet(which is 10 to 12 feet from the toilet)was wet. There were wet pants and underwear left on the bathroom floor and still no notification. Yes, the place is older, but we do keep it clean and have had positive reviews from many. As far as moving the stove and fridge, we don't move ours at home, we don't move those at places we rent and we have never had anyone renting from us move them. And the TV...we never thought that someone would bring their own TV and move ours out of the way. (Also, the power supply for the cable box was missing and we had to get a new one). Because of this incident, we will have to put in our rental agreement that you should not move or take items. This renter had rented the cabin for her son, who was getting married, to stay at along with his groomsmen. We were reluctant to do so since a bunch of young men can get rowdy, but she informed me that the young man's father would be there to supervise. Needless to say, we won't be doing that anymore.

Convenient, affordable, flexible, and very near lake access

  • 5 of 5

Not fancy but everything you need as a base for Green River Lake. Huge living/kitchen area, great for gathering with flexibility. No TV (good!) but sure appreciated the great WIFI! Much preferred this to parking our bass boats in a motel parking lot with the attendant security issues. Owner is very responsive and this place is more than reasonable, given its utility and extreme proximity to the free launch/park at Green River Lake Marina and this is right at the entrance to the State Park!

Relaxing stay for hectic weekend!

  • 5 of 5

This location was centrally located between Columbia & Campbellsville which was a significant plus for our multiple graduation ceremonies we had to attend at both local colleges. It was very spacious and relaxing! I loved the no TV as well it made our stay even better. Beds were extremely comfortable and loved the decor. Although the weekend was forecasted much too cool for a boat outing there was adequate space for our vehicles and had we have taken the boat there was more than enough room. Owner responded quickly to any questions I had, thank you for a wonderful weekend!
