About Tracie Bennett
I have worked on Beech Mountain for 20+ years in the Vacation Rental business. I know what it takes to make the perfect vacation rental for the perfect vacation.
Why Tracie Bennett chose Beech Mountain
I have worked on Beech Mountain for over 20 years and when the opportunity to purchase this house came available I took advantage of it because this was the perfect investment property. Having being in the Vacation Rental business I knew this house was the perfect vacation rental. It has almost a level entry and is has easy access year round,. Close enough to the ski slopes to walk but without all the noise from the snow making machines. It is the perfect home for the entire family. We have enjoyed using it with our 95 year old grand mother as well as the children in the family and all have enjoyed it.
We had a great stay. Beautiful home. Everything you need is close by.
WE Loved this house!
House was great! We had 3 couples and had plenty of room! We would definitely stay here again! View of slopes was awesome too!
The house is high on Beech Mounrain and gives a beautiful view of the mountains in full fall colours. It was a great getaway to visit the area and enjoy the countryside. We saw deer every evening as we returned up the mounrain. A bear visited two evenings as the condo had left garbage in the bins. But the house was warm and cozy with a beautiful fireplace once the pilot light was lit for us. The kitchen was well supplied and made it easy to make our breakfast and evening meals with food we brought with us. There were a few small things that needed attention such as a bathroom light needing replaced and the pilot light on the fireplace being lit but it was quickly taken care of when we called. Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, Boone and the Wooly Worm Festival were nearby. The ski hill can also be viewed from the house so it is a great location for ski enthusiasts during winter. The drive up the mountain is steep and curvy so be sure to have winter tires once the snow flies. There are a variety of restaurants choices on the mountain top if you want a night out and a general store that seems to stock a wide range of supplies. It was a wonderful, relaxing week spent in the mountains.
Nice roomy cabin in a great location!
Great space layout and facilities. We had a blast!
Great place. Easy walk over to terrain park, slide down to the ticket both from there, and enjoy the mountain. Unbelievable price to have an entire house this close to everything. We have kids and didn't have to worry about disturbing neighbors at all. Perfect views, secluded yet in the middle of everything, and very easy drive. We will be booking winter for the slopes and summer for the biking for as many years as we can.
I suggest renting equipment on the way to the house, it's cheaper and easier to get on and off the slopes. Huge front porch for keeping the puddles outside and you can see the entire mountain from the living room so it is easy to tell how crowded it is.
Love the giant living area, bedrooms, two full baths are great and plenty of porch space.
Thanks for everything.
Good but not great
This place was a good location but it's not walking distance to slopes. There is a great view of the slopes from this cabin, but they are a short drive away. Overall, the cabin was okay but needs a good cleaning and could use new mattresses. I would say it only sleeps 6 not 8. The futon upstairs is broken. The table is for 6, not 8. The ceiling in the downstairs bathroom is sagging from water damage and needs some repair work. The toaster doesn't work. The room heaters turn on and off constantly and the noise from that bothered all of us trying to sleep. The goods things are the location and view, the W&D worked fine and were convenient. The air hockey table and PS3 were fun for our kids. Overall, I would go back to this cabin but I would hope that it would be cleaner the next time.
The house is walking distance to the middle of Lower Shawneehaw ski slope however, if you are wanting to go to the Village of Ski Beech where the ice skating, tubing, etc. are located you will need to drive a little over 1 mile. I was not aware of the broken futon and appreciate being notified of this and it is being replaced. The mattresses are being replaced as well.
The ceiling was damaged by a water leak from the upstairs bathroom and there was not enough time to properly repair the damage before the renters arrival. If at any time a renter has a problem with the cleanliness of the unit the management company has housekeepers that will come and take care of anything a renter deems necessary. We appreciate renters comments because we want everyone to enjoy their stay at this house and on Beech Mountain.
