Kentucky Impressive!

  • 5 of 5

The property was immense and just seeing it was exhilarating enough being that neither of us has ever visited Kentucky! The accomadations were way more than adequate!

Hospitality was at 1,000,000 % and the welcome bottle of wine ,grapes , apple , cheese & crackers were just the thing after the 5.4 hour drive from Cleveland , Ohio! Being able to bring our dog "Lucky" was the best thing that ever happened to him! The pets that were there "Simon" &Toby were very friendly and so was Dan & Cindy's horse named " Major" My wife & I just got the great chance to relax and relax we did! The hot tub was more than perfect to cap our last night before we went home! Looking forward to staying there again for sure!!!

Beautiful,Tranquil farmette !

  • 4 of 5

The place is beautiful, away from the world and the hosts are kind and very accommodating.. Their attention to detail was outstanding and their suggestions were spot on. The place would be five star if they had allotted a little more space to the kitchen and less to the "reading nook". As we were just two and a dog, we would have used a full size fridge and stove more than we used the reading nook. Their thoughtful welcome plate and bottle were eclipsed by the organic half and half l eft for us. It was divine. We were too tired to use the hot tub but it was pristine. We debated telling how nice it was as we desired to keep it for ourselves, But we can only hope we will visit again!

Owner's Response: Hi Mark and Nancy! We enjoyed having you all and Nelson. Nelson seemed to really enjoy the fenced in area for stretching his legs! We have thought about adding a built in stove and full size fridge. Not all of our guests cook while they are here, and the 2 burner portable unit and beverage fridge suit most of our guests, but having the option would be a nice addition. Hope to have you visit again! Cindy and Dan

Fun Stay in Kentucky

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Cindy and Dan's cabin. The place was clean and cozy. When we arrived we found a card and gift on the counter. Shortly after they brought us a tray of fresh fruit, muffins, cheese and crackers which was perfect after being in the car for a few hours. We also got to chat with them for a while. Very nice people and excellent hosts.

That evening we sat out on the patio and watched a storm roll in while having a few drinks. It is peaceful out there in the country, great for relaxing. Cindy and Dan's house is right next door but we felt like we still had our privacy. They leave the back area of the house with cabin, porch and hot tub for the guests so we had our own indoor and outdoor spaces to ourselves.

Over the weekend we travelled to Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Shelbyville, Louisville, and Lexington. It was a nice central location to access the different cities. If you would want to check out a few different cities, this is a convenient spot to access some cool places in an hour or less. Plus the drives through Kentucky are scenic, nice countryside with huge farms and rolling hills.

The cabin was perfect for the two of us and our dog. Comfy bed, a futon, a couple chairs, tv, clean bathroom and a little reading room off to the side. Someone mentioned ice in a previous review... there was an ice maker in the kitchen so we did not need to ask for any ice. I like bourbon on the rocks so I thought that was worth mentioning. Also, the kitchen has a microwave, under-the-counter fridge, toaster oven and a portable stove top with two burners.

It was a great stay and a super fun weekend in Kentucky. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a quiet countryside retreat that is also a reasonable drive to quite a few cities with all kinds of things to do. Cindy and Dan are wonderful folks and really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Also a huge thumbs up for being pet friendly! We hope to go back soon.

Kentucky Wonder

  • 5 of 5

Wow! The property itself is only surpassed by the hospitality of the hosts. We've stayed at numerous VRBO's and this was undoubtedly the best. It was well maintained, very clean and stocked with everything you might need. The grounds were terrific - a beautiful garden-like atmosphere. Dan and Cindy were so helpful and gracious. (The cheese and fruit tray we found upon arrival may have saved our lives - we arrived very late and had missed dinner). They assisted with our Derby plans and provided a lot of good info on the events and logistics. Do yourself a favor and stay here. I know we'll be back!
