E Street Casitas
Two units on site, but YOU get exclusive use of the entire property (including the spa and pool) when you stay there.
Unit B: La Casita Plumeria - A cozy, romantic Palm Springs-close, 525-square-foot stand-alone casita in a large, private compound that will be all yours for your stay. No one else will be on the property when you are there, except a pool man who comes twice a week (Mon. and Thurs. except holidays) and gardener who comes once a week.
With beautiful mountain views, this is a no-hassle, quiet retreat near the end of a dead-end street where you can truly chill and rejuvenate! (The other stand-alone unit on the property is not used when this fully-furnished 2nd casita with kitchen is rented, unless the entire property of two units is rented as a package to one renter). Your retreat does not share a wall with another unit; it is NOT a condo.
Unit B is decorated in southwest modern décor (gray, white, black, cream). Envision a large studio with an open bedroom (modern, queen-sized platform bed ... low-to-the-floor) with 500-thread sheet count, quilt coverlet and duvet and two reading lamps; an additional big room that is a combo living room (with modern, sleek leather sofa and chair), dining area for 2 and a full kitchenette (including new 5' tall refrigerator, concrete counter, gas top range, convection counter-top oven; crock pot; microwave, blender, all dishes, pots/pans, utensils).
The bathroom has a shower/tub and sink. A hair dryer is stored below the sink.
The casita also features free wi-fi, flat screen tv and Apple tv (which provides for access to your own Netflix account). It also has a great bluetooth music speaker to connect your phone or i-Pad to, so you can listen to your own music.
Unit A: Casita de Colibri' (ask for photos and pricing; it is larger and more expensive than Unit B and is ONLY rented when two couples wish to use the property as a group): A mid-century modern one-bedroom open floor plan home that is occasionally rented as a package with the other unit - when both units are used for one party/renter group. It boasts a larger kitchen with dishwasher and a separate dining room that can seat up to 6, as well as a bathroom with a double shower. A Roku tv is in the bedroom which provides accessibility to your own Netflix, Amazon, etc. accounts. The bed size is CalKing. Thre is a full kitchen with oven and dishwasher in the main unit/Unit A.
The very large property is truly an oasis in the desert! It is surrounded by beautiful desert plants and plumeria and swarming with hummingbirds and mourning doves. The compound boasts a very large, 6-foot-high extremely private, solid fence. A lush desert garden, 5 ½-foot-deep saltwater swimming pool, and hot tub are ALL YOURS when you are there. (The pool is not heated, but can be for an additional fee of $125 for initial heat-up and $25 a day for each day you want it heated. The invoice for pool heating comes separately from the owner and is not charged by VRBO/Home Away.) We do not recommend heating the pool from May through September; the water is quite warm then. THERE IS ALWAYS AN ADDITIONAL FEE TO HEAT THE POOL. The setting for the pool would be set at 83 degrees before you check-in, by our pool service. THE HOT TUB HEATING IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICING at no additional charge. You turn the hot tub on one hour before you use it, and turn it off when you're done. It heats to 102 degrees.)
Check-in is at 2 p.m. Check-out is at 11 a.m.
We allow up to two small pets under 20 pounds each -- and this is an additional fee of $50 per pet.
Renters also have exclusive use of the outside grounds including natural gas grill, outside dining table that seats 6, lounge chairs, outdoor shower, etc. (Note: a saltwater pool is not like swimming in the ocean; it just uses salt for sanitation rather than pure pool chlorine, which is hard on the skin and eyes.)
The property has beautiful views of the mountains. If you love hiking, you'll love this vacation area ... there are over 140 hiking trails in the Coachella Valley! And, for golfers, there are first class courses available to the public within minutes of the property.
Renters of 5 days or more may use the washer and dryer.
Directions and Access Info are provided one week ahead of check-in.
Deposits are returned within two weeks of check-out.
Absolutely NO SMOKING is allowed inside the unit(s).
Again, this is not a condo and not in a homeowner association.
ABOUT CATHEDRAL CITY
Located halfway between Palm Springs and Palm Desert, this community is large and consists of a population of both Anglo and Hispanic families. The California Cove area of Cathedral City, south of Hwy 111, has many artists, young people and Hispanics who serve as the area's landscapers, pool cleaners, home cleaners and more. I personally rely on these sweet folks to over-see and maintain my property, keep my vegetation and tree-trimming in perfect condition, and clean my two units. They are good people who I trust implicitly. Several friends and I are purchasing properties in the area and improving them. As a former Mayor of a Southern California City, both my partner (an attorney who drives a high-end, high-performance car) and I feel safe being at the property and parking our cars there, out front.
PRICING, REFUND POLICIES AND MORE
Minimum 3 night stay is required for most stays; longer stays required over Thanksgiving and Christmas. Please inquire about rates. Surge pricing may apply on holidays/holiday weekends from Sept. 1 through June 1 -- including during Thanksgiving, Christmas, Stagecoach, Coachella Music Festivals, BNP Tennis Tournament, Modernism Week, etc.
Rates are lowest in June, July and August and a low monthly rental is sometimes available during those months.
There is a $50 non-refundable pet fee for each dog. Owners must pick up their dog's droppings and discard in the outside trash before leaving.
Must be 25 years or older to rent a unit. An Agreement which requires driver’s license info is required for each guest. Children accompanying adults on or to the property must be 16 years or older. Swim or use the pool and/or hot tub at your own risk. Dogs under 20 pounds are allowed in Unit B (Plumeria) only. No smoking is allowed inside either of the casitas.
Parking is in front of the property. There is no garage/carport. As it is often windy in the desert, expect your car to become quite dirty if you park inside the gate. Parking inside a large manually operated gate is at your own risk.
The pool is not heated, although we have the capability. The pool water is quite cold from late October through early April. We can offer heating between October 15 and April 15 for a minimum 5-day stay for a fee of $125 for initial heating plus $25 for each rental day. It takes 1 1/2 days to heat the pool.
Owner or caretaker personally inspects every rental (s)after each use. The caretaker lives within 3 minutes of the property oversees the property. A non- refundable cleaning fee of $75 is required per unit, per stay.
For those staying longer than one week, cleaning service is available @ $60 per cleaning visit (contact info is inside the unit), and a washer & dryer is on the property and available to you.
Check in is 2 pm; check-out is 11 am.
