Our cozy cottage is recently renovated with all new hardwood flooring, new kitchen cabinets, counters, sink and fixtures. All interior and exterior paint is new within the last 2 years. No pets and not smoking, so it remains clean and fresh. You will immediately notice the decorating talent in every room of the house, as well as the flower gardens during the summer months. Best of all it is only steps to the water. This is a non gas motor lake, so it is clean, quiet, and peaceful. Bring your canoes, kayaks, or swim boards. This is one of the cleanest lakes in the state. I have documentation to prove it as the association has it tested on a regular basis by the University of Michigan ecology department. We even have fresh water jelly fish which most people don't believe exist because most lakes are not healthy enough to support them. They are only seen a couple of times a year and do not hamper and of the activity on the lake.

About Bruce Thomas
We met at Northridge church in Plymouth Michigan, blended our two families (5 boys) together and built many good memories at our cottage. Now we live and work in the Detroit Metro area. We still love and use the cottage on a regular basis, and have developed many relationships with people in Pinckney. Now we are sharing our little gem hoping you will enjoy the charm, peace and tranquility of it as much as we do.
Bruce Thomas purchased this Cottage in 2003
Why Bruce Thomas chose Pinckney
We originally purchased the cottage because it was an affordable waterfront property at the time. Now we have come to enjoy, love and respect the lake for its peacefulness and cleanliness. Cordley Lake is one of the cleanest lakes in Michigan and one of the only lakes to have fresh water jelly fish.
What makes this Cottage unique
This is a non gas motor lake, it is quiet and peaceful but it still gets lot of use from stand up paddle boards, to kyaks, to paddle boats.

Little Slice of Serenity in an Artfully-Decorated House and Garden
From the moment you walk in, you realize how special the owners Bruce and Suzy have made their lakehouse. The kitchen is relatively large and well equipped, the furniture nice, the decking and yard chairs well-kept, beds are comfortable, and the lakeview serene. There is a firepit down by the lake and little light-pollution to mar watching shooting stars and satellites in the night sky (I saw two shooting stars in one night!). With a waiver, the owners will let you use the stand-up paddleboards and kayaks to tool around the lake at your own speed.
Even though there are homes around the lake, the view directly out from the lakehouse is relatively uncluttered and affords the perfect stage to watch the glorious Michigan Summer Sunsets.
There is also a great collection of movie DVDs (for those who prefer to watch their stars on the TV instead of in the sky) and the cabin stays cool enough that we never had to turn on the air conditioning (even once) for the week. Just leave a few windows open at night and allow the night air to swirl around you. So lovely.
We used to live in the area, but moved to Dallas last summer. We rented Bruce and Suzy's cabin to be close to friends and old neighbors for a week (while Dallas sweltered under 100+ degree heat and drought), but we were unprepared for how relaxing and comfortable just hanging around the lakehouse would be.
Added bonuses are the artwork around the home and the lovely flower gardens. Truly a place to unwind and enjoy a Michigan Summer. Thank you!
Adorable and spacious cottage
Great view of the lake. The cottage is beautifully furnished with comfortable furniture. Deceptively large with a great kitchen. Bruce was great to deal with. Convenient distance to Ann Arbor.
Cottage in April
While we did not book this cottage to use the lake, we thoroughly enjoyed seeing it every day. There is a spacious dining table by the window overlooking the lake, and so, while it was too cold to sit outside, we still enjoyed the view.
The cottage was very convenient to Pinckney and Brighton which was our destination. It was very comfortable for the two of us, and spacious enough to relax in the morning and evening after our obligations in the area. The internet and cell service worked well.
Very clean and relaxing
Loved the property and would like to visit again
My family and I enjoyed our Thanksgiving celebration at this beautiful, welcoming, lake cottage!
Absolutely perfect! The cottage was clean, cozy, and even came with a beautiful sunset for the perfect finale to our autumn family gathering.
Everything we needed was right there. Bruce was very helpful with his communications, so I felt like I knew just what to expect and what to do to be a good guest!
Being there at the cottage made me want to move back out there... Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us!
Absolutely loved the cabin! Very quaint. Decorated beautifully. Owners were wonderful to work with. The lake is pristine. Hoping to go back for a week next year!! Bruce...thanks for sharing your home with us!!
Pinckney State Recreation area approximately 10 miles and is one of the top 10 mountain biking trails in the country. Hamburg trail is 2 miles from the cottage if you prefer an easier ride, this is a paved trail for walkers, joggers, and bikers.
