About Vyas Nath
We are first generation immigrants from the Fiji Islands. I currently reside in the Hayward Hills with my wife and 9 year old daughter, Gia. I am a Realtor by profession. My wife is a Teacher.
Vyas Nath purchased this House in 2004
Why Vyas Nath chose Hayward
Property was built as a custom home in 2004. We choose this location because it keeps us close to nature and it is in the heart of the bay area. One can travel within minutes to major cities like Oakland, San Francisco and San Jose. Hayward Hills is surrounded by mature trees. Close to Stonebrae County Club and other many other conveniences.
What makes this House unique
Open space yet very private. Serene Lush Garden frequently visited by humming birds and butterflies. Ideal place to relax and unwind when not traveling/site seeing. A little piece of paradise very close to the City.

Beautiful Garden Apartment
We had such a great stay and couldn’t have been more comfortable.
Very nice neighborhood and Yvas and his family were so helpful and welcoming.
Would definitely stay again! Thank you again!!
Thanks and you are most welcome to stay anytime. Cheers, Vyas
Great host, large space and garden, great value
My husband and I stayed here for about 3 months with 2 dogs. Vyas was very accommodating, went above and beyond with my deliveries from online shopping. His garden apartment of 2 bedrooms has everything we needed - space for our dogs to hang out, washer-dryer, small stove, utensils and pots, and other everyday comfort. The area is safe for deliveries, only 10 minutes away from the Hayward station. Since it's tucked away from downtown and surrounded by lush greens, naturally, there are lots of spiders and pollen. Otherwise, it was a great stay, and I cannot ask for more.
The Secret Garden
We stayed at Vyas downstairs garden apartment for 2 months with our 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter. I was on a temporary job assignment and his home is centrally located in the Bay Area. The apartment has all the amminities needed. Vyas was more than accommodating. If I asked him where the nearest car wash was, he unreeled his hose, grabbed brushes and towels, then his vacuum. My kids played with his beautiful daughter daily.
Vyas backyard is beautifully landscaped. Butterflies and hummingbirds are attracted to the myriad of flowers and fruit trees. We also loved the grill and fire pit which we used weekly.
Thanks for the wonderful comments in your review. Much appreciated. Cheers, Vyas.
Super accommodating for our difficult family
Owner and his family were very responsive and helpful, from our nanny getting cold in her room (they brought down a powerful space heater), to when my wife got a booboo and needed a bandaid. Our dogs were welcomed to use all the space in the backyard, even when we were not home (after demonstrating their good behavior), which they loved after living in the 8th floor of an apartment in the city for a month. Although, I think my son enjoyed the sand pit most of all.
We were not the easiest guests either. Our son cried a couple times at night, but it was never mentioned or acknowledged by their family upstairs. Even though other neighborhood dogs also barked, when ours did, they were never addressed to quiet down. We also occasionally had some late hours, but with our own back entrance to the lodging, it was not an issue.
One major highlight of staying here is availing yourself of the offer to go to the country club. It is quite the place to behold, and during our stay, practically deserted; this is where the pool is.
We had construction going on at our house, which ran over schedule, so we booked only a couple days in advance. They offered to assist with any special accommodations for our 20 month old, but we had everything we needed already. They were totally cool with the minor wear and tear that we had on their place (we were up front about it).
Proximity to Bart meant that we could have our nanny run us down the hill to Bart in the morning and pick us up in the evening. A few times, logistics dictated that we take an Uber, which was also very convenient and quick. Neighbors made it a point to thank us for the sounds from our kid in the back yard. Hayward is a decent town as well and worth just hanging around in.
All in all, this was a great, relaxing retreat for our family.
Thanks for the kind words. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and would welcome you back anytime. Cheers, Vyas.
All the comforts of home...
We had just moved to California for a new job and needed a place to stay while we found a house and got settled. Vyas's house was a truly a joy to stay at. From the beautifully landscaped backyard with grill and hammock to the very comfortable two bedroom unit that was very nicely appointed we wanted for nothing during our stay. Vyas was extremely kind and went out of his way to help us anytime we needed it. We just can't say enough good things about our stay here. We highly recommend this property.
I stayed for an extended period while working for a client, and the apartment worked great. Kitchen is smaller and functional (no dishwasher) but for 1 person that wasn't an issue. Full size stove/fridge/island/micro. Plenty of room; "Master" bedroom is huge with a king sized bed and very large closet. Everything is functional, clean and nice; and the neighborhood felt very safe. Owners were very easy to work with and responded quickly to the few issues that came up.
The apartment is the entire lower floor (walk-out basement) of a newer home; but its not dark - there are windows on 3 sides so tons of light even on cloudy days. Super nicely landscaped back-yard - very large - with some beautiful native California oak, paved stone walkways and a great summer BBQ area. A few blocks down the street is a nice public park that has a creek and tons of trees - you can walk for miles either direction.
Convenient: A few blocks to Cal State East Bay. 7 minutes drive to north Hayward BART station and a bunch of restaurants, theater and services in original DT Hayward at the foot of the hill. Super easy access to 92, 880 or 580. 20-25m from DT oakland/Emeryville non-peak; 30 to Berkeley campus. 25m to central Fremont. 20-25m to Dublin.
BART station is about 40 m to DT San Fran. (Warning: check the BART schedules if you like to stay out late in San Fran; latest train leaves about 1130pm and I got stuck for the better part of an hour at 1215am in San Leandro when the 'connecting' train didn't come on time.).
The northern parts of Hayward and Castro Valley are pretty green with a lot of trees. If you like to hike, there's a large number of regional parks easily accessible: Lake Chabot, Redwood Regional (east of Oakland), Garin Park a few miles south on Mission blvd from "Carlos Bee Blvd" which climbs the hill up the university.
Fun spot: "Niles" which is an original small town in E. Fremont - tons of antique shops. Temescal area (N. Oakland touching S. Berkeley) has a lot of decent restaurants. Berkeley has a lot of houses vintage 1910-1920, so the neighborhoods are attractive and interesting.
The "turf club" in DT Hayward is notable for its very large outdoor back patio they have bands during the warmer months and a genuine hand-made "Tiki-hut" made of Bamboo - which is worth the walk-in if you like such things.
Overall great, convenient place to stay, but you need a car unless just going to the university (4 blocks).
Just 3 minute drive from Stonebrae Country Club which offers Golf, Tennis, Swimming Pool/Spa and Fitness Center. Lake Chabot park is a quick 10 minute drive away and offers fishing, boating, hiking, biking and good old fashion BBQ sites. The University Plaza is a short walk away and offers several convenient stores to get groceries, Chinese, pizza, Subway sandwiches, deserts, coffee and even dry cleaning. All the comfort of home yet just minutes away from the City.
