About the property

After a total remodel in 2015 (and the finishing touch of a pro interior designer), our 2-bed, 1-bath apartment is ready to welcome guests on business trips, couples getaways, skiers, and explorers who want to get to know Salt Lake City!

A central location—10 minutes from downtown and 20-30 miles from world-class skiing—makes it easy to transition from a downtown meeting (or sightseeing at Temple Square) in the morning, to an afternoon on the slopes, to dinner on the town.

When you get here, park in the private carport with room for 2 vehicles. Then head straight inside. Our keyless lock has an easy-to-remember code that we create specifically for you. No need to worry about keeping track of keys while you’re out having fun!

We have 2 deluxe bedrooms to sleep 4. We carefully selected great mattresses and added luxury bedding to each. In the master, you’ll find a king-sized bed and a flat-screen TV. The 2nd bedroom has a queen. One more person can sleep on our comfy air mattress (with bedding set) on the living room floor.

We have high-speed WiFi throughout the apartment. Get work done, or binge-watch your Netflix favorites. We have two flat screens: one in the living room and one in the master bedroom.

The kitchen is sleek and modern, with gleaming stainless appliances and a dining table with 4 adjustable stools.

With off-street, covered parking, it’s easy to come and go. And with keyless door locks, you don’t have to worry about keeping track of keys. We create an easy-to-remember code specifically for your group.

We also offer accommodations on the other half of the duplex, with room for up to 8 more guests in 4 bedrooms. Feel free to ask us about our other rental options.

Our kitchen comes with the convenience of all the breakfast basics to get you off to a good start during your stay with us. Make yourself a cup of coffee, a refreshing juice, and toss up a couple of eggs. Pancakes? Waffles? You’ll find the convenience of having them all within reach.


Unlike most other vacation rentals, we charge a damage deposit ($250) as a "Pre-Authorization Only", which is a simply a tempory hold on your credit card.

We'll process the pre-authorization 1-2 days before your arrival (please be sure funds are available at this time).

If there are no damages, the pre-authorization will be released within 3 days of your departure - no actual charges will show on your credit card statement.


This rental is located at the corner of a residential street and 700 East, which provides quick, easy access to I-80 and I-15, and downtown.

Worried about traffic noise from our neighbor, 700? We live here and don’t find it to be an issue…and our guests say they’d come back, so that’s a good sign! Just in case, though, we soundproofed the windows and provide earplugs for guests.


If you’re coming here for both skiing AND downtown Salt Lake City, this rental is in an ideal location: 10-15 minutes (depending on traffic) from downtown and no more than 30 miles from all the ski resorts. If you have no interest in skiing, that’s fine, too—there is plenty to do within minutes of this rental. Most places are less than a half-hour away by car.

About Red Maple Vacation Rentals

We (Jonah and Carmen) are avid travelers who have rearranged our lives a few times in order to travel the globe—frequently staying in vacation rentals along the way. So we know what goes into a great guest experience!

When we’re not traveling, we live in the basement apartment on the other side of this duplex. If we’re home, we’re happy to chat and share our tips for things to do in the area. But we also respect that you’re here to explore, not talk to us.

When we’re not home, a trusted neighbor keeps an eye on the property and will be on-hand if you have questions or concerns.

It’s modern and comfortable with everything you’d need while on vacation including a few extras, like the free movies! We feel it’s perfect for a family or two couples, or if you want more space why not consider renting our Salt Lake City vacation home which has a couple extra bedrooms and a washer and dryer too?

What makes this apartment unique

Totally remodeled in 2015! Our 2-bed, 1-bath apartment is located in a great spot between the ski resorts (20-30 miles) and downtown Salt Lake City (10 minutes). Everything inside was chosen with our guests in mind.

The apartment was great and surprisingly quiet with all the soundproofing in the bedrooms. All the extra touches like the blackout curtains, snack box, refrigerator stocked for breakfast, cleaning supplies, and all your attention to detail made this place our favorite place we stayed during our 3 week vacation. This was a great value. Thank you very much for your hospitality. We would strongly recommend this apartment.

It was beyond our expectations! It is beautiful inside and we were welcomed with a personalized letter, snacks and even food:) Carmen was amazing and she even brought baby items (we had just adopted in Utah) and offered to run to the store for us. We would highly recommend staying here.

Absolutely Beautiful!

We were so excited to stay here and it did not disappoint! It exceeded our expectations and was absolutely beautiful and exceptionally clean and well-maintained. Just wish it had a dishwasher, lol! We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. Owners were very responsive and helpful, as well!

The hosts thought of everything you could possibly need in this 2 BR apartment. Obviously an interior designer styled this apartment. My daughter and I felt very spoiled staying here. It certainly exceeded our expectations. The location being near to downtown is ideal.

I booked this house one day before I needed to stay. I flew out to help my son move. Owners allowed me to check in early.

The other reviews were great but I didn't expect what I found. ( I've rented many vrbo- I'm no stranger to the process.) This is by far the best place I've stayed!

The photos are accurate- not just a great photographer making things look better than they actually are. The owners provided breakfast. Bread, eggs, coffee, oatmeal, condiments, spices....even some snacks...all for our use. It was so nice to be able to fix my son breakfast there in the condo before we began working each day.

I was able to wash some of his clothes while I was watching tv. Just like home.

There was a hair dryer and a flat iron in the bathroom along with many fresh towels.

I tried to stay a couple of more nights but someone was waiting to check in after we departed. I know why!

I sent Carmen a text telling her I should invite them to stay in my home if they were ever in Little Rock because I definitely felt like I was a guest in theirs.
