Really wanted to give nothing but positive feedback but...

The wrong instructions on how to get access into the condo were given to me. The instructions said we were to come straight to the condo where there would be a lock box with the key in it at the front door. The lock box code was provided but didn't work on the boxes (there were two)! My group and I were stuck outside for about two hours trying to call the phone numbers provided on the instruction sheet but no one answered nor returned our calls/texts. We even went to the clubhouse and got some assistance from someone who worked for the complex but she had no idea what was going on either. After a while, we were finally able to get a hold of Wildernest management (some kind of HOA) and was told that the instructions given to us were either wrong or outdated. Instead of coming straight to the property and using a code for the lock box, we were actually supposed to check in at the Wildernest management building where our keys were waiting for us. We were lucky to have stumbled upon finding their number by trying to call the property's maintainance number.

Our experience with the property after that wasn't horrible. Only main issue we had was with the showers. The water either came out cold or extremely hot. No in between.

If renting this place, make sure you follow up with the owner and get confirmation that the instructions they provide to you are accurate so you don't get stuck outside like we did. If you do get stuck outside, make sure you look up Wildernest Vacation Rentals and have them help you out.

Confusing and outdated check-in info; good budget rental

  • 3 of 5

Nice kitchen, nicely decorated, comfortable couches and bed. The check-in info and contact numbers given by VRBO are outdated and confusing, and after not being able to open the unit with the provided lockbox code, I finally reached the owner who told me I have to checkin at the Wildernest Property Management office, which meant another 20 min roundtrip car ride. This was never mentioned in the VRBO info. Also, the place is much smaller than it appears in the photos and is in a funky, out-of-date building. It's a long walk to the clubhouse, which was packed with loud college kids, had no towels, and requires quarters for the games. The dishwasher is extremely loud, and the shower water is either burning hot or freezing. Overall, the place would be fine for college students on a budget but not the best choice for a family. It's also a 10 min drive out of the way from the resorts/I-70.

Fantastic location

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed the area a lot. It is beautiful with plenty to do nearby. Condo was nice with plenty of space for our family and nice kitchen. Also enjoyed the clubhouse pool. Downside was that carpet is at end of its life and needs to be replaced.

Great Condo

  • 4 of 5

Nice place. It's a little crowded for 9 people but there are plenty of extra linens and towels. The unit is also on the first floor which makes packing luggage in and out nice. The club house is great and has a huge area upstairs to relax.

Excellent propery and fast responses from owner!

  • 5 of 5

The condo was exactly as described, and the owners were extremely responsive and attentive to inquiries! My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would love to book again!

The condo was in an excellent part of town, and the views of the mountains were superb. Very cozy and perfect for a holiday trip!
