About the property

3 bedroom, 3 bath cabin with wrap-around porch and fire pit for evening 'smores

The Wolf and Hound Inn at the Enchanted Trail. Located in the Enchanted Valley of Northeast Georgia, this cabin immediately impresses you with its warm, clean, and peaceful presence.

We have three levels serving all types - The bottom floor is a complete suite, with a king bed, sitting area, sink, bathroom and laundry room. Perfect for the ones who want privacy. The main level contains a bedroom with a queen bed, a bathroom, the kitchen, the living room and gas fireplace. Perfect for the ones who want to run the show. The loft upstairs has two twin beds and a bathroom, perfect for those who want to be independent, but not far from mom and dad.

Two padded dog beds are available to keep the four-legged family members comfy as well.

Why the Wolf and Hound Inn at the Enchanted Trail?

Enchant: Verb - 1. to subject to magical influence; bewitch: 2. to delight to a high degree: 3. to impart a magic quality or effect to.

Sometimes we find ourselves so focused on the destination, we forget about the journey. The friends we make, the sights we see, the food we enjoy…sometimes get overlooked as we pursue whatever goal we think eludes us. In the Enchanted Valley of Towns County, Georgia, we found that whatever magic is here allowed us to re-focus our attention to the journey…to walk the Enchanted Trail, to experience the joy and deal with sorrow that life brings. The seasons here define this enchanted trail – the color of fall, the peace of winter, renewal of spring, and the joy of summer.

Also, its proximity to the Appalachian Trail further reinforces the notion that we are on a journey, with its ups and downs, its risks and rewards.

Pet friendly because of the Wolf and the Hound - Our dogs are neither a wolf nor a hound, but don’t tell them that. Moose, our rescued German Shepard, is about as dopey as any cartoon wolf you will ever see – definitely no match against three little pigs or a little Red Riding Hood. Kya, a supposed pure bred black Lab, not only retrieves, but tracks and hunts…and runs like an American Quarter Horse.

Their personalities and interests are not bound by their breed – they know what they love and they just go about doing it. They do not have notions regarding a destination…they simply enjoy any lake, creek, or trail put in front of them. Their devotion is unconditional, and they are always up for adventure, especially if it is something new.

Now that's a fire! - The fire pit is great for 'smores, cooking hot dogs, and sitting around having deep conversations that are punctuated by the snap/crackle/pop of the flames.

The cabin is centrally located to Lake Chatuge, Young Harris College, John C. About Owner/Property Manager

I have many fond memories of family vacations. Some of my favorite are from when we would go to my great-aunt's cabin in Upstate New York. Even back then, I found wooded trails held a peace and quiet that you could not find anywhere. It seemed even the family dog felt more free. As my own family grew, I wanted them to know the beauty that the mountains held. We first came to this area in 2005 and immediately fell in love with it. We found this cabin on a family trip during Easter, 2007 - as soon as we walked in the door we knew it was ours. Since then we have made memories here not only with our family, but with friends from home, as well as friends made here.

We live in Tampa, but sometimes we feel like this is our home.

What makes this cabin unique

Plenty of porch - One main wrap-around porch for that cool evening family get-together, another one downstairs just outside the king suite for that quiet cup of morning coffee while the rest of the house is asleep.

They do not have any notion regarding a destination…they simply enjoy any lake, creek, trail, or treat put in front of them. Their devotion is unconditional, and they are always up for adventure, especially if it is something new.

Family Friendly - Plenty of space for the family, yet intimate enough to keep everyone close and talking (for those requiring translation: Talking = how you communicate without typing abbreviated conversations on a smart phone).

Now that's a fire - The fire pit is great for 'smores, cooking hot dogs, and sitting around having deep conversations that are punctuated by the snap/crackle/pop of the flames.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Lovely, clean and well located cabin. Very peaceful and relaxing. Quiet but, Close enough to restaurants and grocery stores. Was able to get easily to surrounding towns as well as an easy two hour drive to Asheville. Loved the area, lots to do.

Quiet getaway in the middle of the mountains!

  • 5 of 5

The property is centrally located near all the attractions and scenic wonders. There is ample room for up to 6 people, though we only had 2. The view is likely better during the winter months, though we could sit on the back deck and see the sun set over the distant mountains in late June. The drive is steep, but not too long. We made it fine in a front wheel drive car on wet pavement. Ice would be different. The drive gets much steeper farther up the mountain, but you don't have to go farther. We missed the house number down low on the right hand side of the entrance the first time, but we're able to turn around at the next cabin up. The cabin had everything we needed. Lovely place!

Clean and roomy

  • 5 of 5

Had a great experience. Plenty of room for everyone 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. Very nice owners, they were very responsive as well. Only thing we couldn't get to work was the satellite tv, but that's ok. That's not why you go on vacation anyways. We'll be back again.

Enchanted days!

  • 5 of 5

We and our dogs loved our stay!! The cabin is huge!!! fit for multi-families; we visited all small towns around the area Blue Ridge is beautiful, went to the several falls and hiked a few trails.

Good warm food in restaurants just down the mountain.

Saw wildlife deer just around the corner from the cabin.

Lake Chatuge is such a beautiful sight!!

And finally...is antiquing is your thing, the options are plenty!!

We were enchanted by this area!

Cousin's 30 Year Reunion

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cabin! Everything is just as the picture shows...except the snow of course. Very secluded area and easy to get grocery store, and plenty of shopping. Everything was very clean. There was just about anything could possibly need there for you to use. The cabin is in the middle of a mountain, so in winter months you might need a 4-wheel drive vehicle if the roads are bad.

Saturday we drove to Helen, which was about a 30-45 minute drive across the mountain. Due to OctoberFest, there was quiet a bit of traffic. That night we ate dinner at Brothers, which is located at the bottom of the cabin's mountain, take a right, and the restaurant is on the right .Food was excellent!! Perfect location!!

We had a great time and definitely will stay here again. All of us highly recommend this cabin if you are staying in the Young Harris/Blueridge area. The owners were very nice and helpful as well! We would highly recommend this cabin!

Great location- secluded

  • 4 of 5

Great cabin and complete with all things you need during the stay. We arrived around 9p. We have no chance to stop by at the groceries store. But we found all what we need that night available in the cabin. One thing your teen will complaint, no internet connection. It is fine for me, my wife, my 7 years twin and the 3 yrs daughter. But not for my oldest boy.

We loved it.
