About Betsy Low
Native New York City girl and a lover of Bucks County! Can provide tips and suggestions on all the best antiquing, restaurants, bars, sightseeing and any activities you are interested in covering the entire County.
Betsy Low purchased this House in 2015
Why Betsy Low chose Point Pleasant
My home is the best rental property online in Bucks County. It has all the charm and history you could possibly want for your country getaway, all year round. This historical home is perfect for the leaf-changing season in the fall, cozening up to the fireplace in the winter, antiquing and driving around with the top down in the spring and taking a dip in the magnificent backyard pool in the summer.
What makes this House unique
All bedrooms have their own en suite bathrooms for extra privacy...no sharing required! Plus a powder room on the main floor. Very unique for an old home such as this and cannot be found anywhere for rent in the entire area.

Sports & Adventure Activities
We were looking for a home to celebrate our 50th anniversary in Bucks County. What a wonderful surprise to find this home above and beyond our expectations. The piano in the living room by the warming fire was a very fun addition to our piano playing family (and it was in tune). Our family was also was very happy to find a bathroom with each bedroom plus a lovely second floor library. The layout of this historic home, which by the way was nicely heated in zones, has a tv room away from the piano playing so both could be done at the same time. We also found the kitchen to be well supplied with several dish sets and glassware for those celebratory toasts. Betsy has a beautiful home and made it very inviting for her guests. She is welcoming, easy to deal with and our experience was memorable and would look forward to coming back another time.
Thank you John & Susan! It was an utter pleasure hosting you and your family for your 50th. Please come back in the warm-weather months to enjoy the pool and all that Bucks has to offer this summer!
Most amazing terraced lush backyard
Betsy is a great owner to communicate with and she is very accommodating to our requests and so responsive to our emails before and during our entire stay.
My favorite things about the house are the lush plants surrounding the delicious pool and the modern appliances in the kitchen - Viking stove with six burners is awesome!
My most negative impression is the persistent musty / mildew smell that pervaded the house - maybe the house doesn’t get enough sunlight. Even with the AC on blast we couldn’t dehumidify the house enough to get rid of the smell. The couch and bed (way too soft for us) felt very damp. Lastly the water pressure and hot water supply arent the best but acceptable for older houses.
For these reasons the house isn’t the best value but I am sure you will quickly realize in your search there is a lack of good options in this area.
Charm, comfort and proximity
Four of my granddaughters, my grandson-in-law, infant great-granddaughter and myself stayed at this terrific house while in the area for another granddaughter's wedding.
Betsy was at the property to meet and greet us and to give us a house tour and some hints for our stay.
All of us loved the house. Since it was rainy and chilly for most of our stay, we made good use of the fireplace & heated floors! Since all of my granddaughters play piano, that was put to use as well.
I just wish that we could have taken advantage of the pool since I really loved that area.
To find a charming, older house with ensuite bathrooms is quite unusual and was my main reason for booking this property. (As well as proximity to the wedding venue which was only about three minutes away!)
The house is very conveniently located to many interesting places for sightseeing.
Getting out of the driveway is a little dicey, but if you go out slowly, and let yourself be seen, it is not much of a problem.
The one feature that I feel is lacking is the use of a washer and dryer. It did not matter much to us for our four day visit, but for a stay of a week or more, it would certainly be helpful.
What a pleasure hosting Judy and her lovely family! So glad they enjoyed my beautiful home and all it's lovely features.
Please note that I do offer the washer/dryer for guests staying more than a week.
The house is adorable and we really enjoyed our three days!!! Thanks so much
Beautifully decorated, charming, cozy, private retreat
Betsy was great to work with and responded very quickly. The home is located on a Main Street but still felt very private and quiet. Back yard oasis made us feel like we were the only house there! The furnishings are very comfortable and tastefully selected and placed. Great time at the local bar we could walk to!
A wonderful unique experience for our family of six. An adventure that you just can't find anywhere!
We loved this unique experience that had the best of everything...location, history, and comfort. The three (and a half) modern bathrooms were perfect for our family. The outdoor area with grill, pool, and great lighting was wonderful . We also loved the charming historical and original feel of this three story home. We have stayed at numerous cookie cutter rentals that have worked well for our family, but you simply can't find one like this that is do very unique, the kids loved it and will remember this for years. Betsy was a great host and even mailed back one of the kids stuffed animals that they left behind Such a great week at a historical, quaint beautiful place.
Bucks County's northern regions (colloquially referred to as Upper Bucks) are renowned for their natural scenery, farmland, colonial history, and proximity to major urban areas (particularly Philadelphia, but New York City, Allentown, Reading and Atlantic City are also within a two-hour radius).
Bucks County is home to ten covered bridges that are still open to vehicular traffic. Two other bridges, both located in parks, are open only to non-vehicular traffic. All Bucks County bridges use the Town truss design. The Schofield Ford Bridge, in Tyler State Park, was reconstructed in 1997 from the ground up after arsonists destroyed the original in 1991.
Popular attractions in Bucks County include the shops and studios of New Hope, Peddler's Village (in Lahaska), Washington Crossing Historic Park, New Hope & Ivyland Railroad , and Bucks County River Country. Rice's Market near Lahaska is a popular destination on Tuesday mornings. Quakertown Farmer's Market (locally called "Q-Mart") is a popular shopping destination on weekends. The county seat of Doylestown is also home to several points of interest for tourists, and also is home to Fordhook Farms, the famous trial farm of the Warminster-based Burpee Seeds. Doylestown also has the trifecta of concrete structures built by Henry Chapman Mercer, including the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works, the Mercer Museum and Fonthill, Mercer's personal home. All within 15-20 minutes of my home!
