About Michel and Mark Gnagy
Mark and I bought property in Winfield Estates subdivision on Pungo Creek and built our second home which was completed in March 2009. We knew nothing about Belhaven except previously stopping here at River Forest Marina while traveling the ICW. We were looking for a new marina to keep our Sea Ray and read about Belhaven in NC Boating magazine. We came to look at the area and bought the same day. Since then we have fallen in love with this area. Last year I was driving around Belhaven and saw this beautiful piece of property on Water Street that has been vacant since we started coming to Belhaven and thought it would be a great idea to renovate this old home originally built around 1950. As a result, we sold our primary residence in Raleigh, NC and moved to our second home permanently. Now we are opening up our new second home to vacationers like yourself that want the luxuries of home away from home.
Michel and Mark Gnagy purchased this House in 2014

Second Wind is a wonderful getaway location! We came for a girls weekend and to ride in Cycle NC Coastal Ride. The house is located right near the water and is easy access to everything in the town and the surrounding area. Second Wind is spacious and has great amenities - everything we needed was here from linens, dishes, spices etc. Michel has been a very gracious host and her personal touches at the house made us feel welcomed from the very first day! I would highly recommend this home for families or a girls weekend. We will definitely be back for another visit!
Thank you. Went to strip beds this morning and neighbors said it looked like you'll had a great time!
Beautifully appointed, exceptional views, awesome hosts
The property was beautifully furnished, with more attributes than I have ever experienced in a rental property. The furnishings and decor were of the highest quality. The upstairs loft area is the perfect space for the kids! The views were spectacular - the front porch rocking chairs are conveniently positioned to soak up the sun and water views. The owners are very personable - they left a gift of appreciation for us in the kitchen, welcoming us to their rental home. This place is a hidden gem! We will be coming back!
Thank for such a wonderful review!
Beautiful Waterfront Home
Beautiful waterfront home with all the amenities you'll need. Clean and updated but still charming, and very roomy. Two dining and living rooms, and many closets. Owners are very thoughtful in making you feel like you are home.
Lovely waterfront cottage with comfortable, clean beds and resort-style master suite.
This was the first time in 4 years that our family went away together (including 3 in their 20's). The kids loved bicycling and walking, we went out for dinner at Spoon River (upscale and gourmet), The Tavern at Jack's Neck (great beer), and did a lot of our own cooking thanks to the fully equipped, ultra-modern kitchen. The first day the wifi base unit wasn't working and Mark and Michel stepped right up, calling the internet provider (unbeknownst to everyone, it had been struck by lightning). It was up and running in no time. We took a beautiful family photo of all 5 of us plus our 2 dogs on the pier. Of course, all the neighbors were immensely friendly, including visitors docking their boats at the marina down the street and everyone on Water Street.
Charming and relaxing
Great house and setting to unwind and enjoy the pace of a small eastern NC town. Beautiful water views from the porch and just a few blocks from Main Street. Very Enjoyable and would recommend highly if your looking to unwind from a stressful big city life.
Great Weekend Getaway
This was our first time using HomeAway and we have no regrets. Our host were responsive to all of our questions and treated us to a delightful welcome gift.
The house is very nice and had everything we needed - including cooking spices. Our family of five (parents & adult kids - 21, 22, & 26) never felt crowded. The den would have been snug if the sixth had been able to join us, but there was still room to pull a chair in from the dining room.
The towns people were amazing - friendly, welcoming and fun. (Jack's Tavern and Spoon River are a must!) The shops are adorable. More than once we were encouraged to join their community and become permanent neighbors (truly tempting).
We woke up Sunday morning to a light snowfall - could not have ordered a more beautiful scene, then loaded up and reluctantly departed.
Thank you for a great review!
