About the property

Three Bedroom, Three Bath Townhouse By The Beach

Our house is located on Longboat Key, outside of the city of Sarasota, on the west coast of Florida. There is an airport in Sarasota, as well as in Tampa, which is a little over an hour away. Longboat Key is pretty and green, and is linked, by bridge, to Anna Maria Island to the north, and to St. Armand's Circle, to the south of us. We are about a 12 minute drive into Sarasota itself, which has great restaurants, and many cultural events and activities. There are also many places to eat, drink and be merry even closer to home.

The house itself is in a development called Sutton Place. It is a townhouse, attached on one side, two stories, with a full garage. The home has three bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms, one of which is an en-suite for the master bedroom, and all of which have been newly renovated. The master bedroom contains a king sized bed; the second bedroom has a queen sized bed, and the third has two twin beds. There are three televisions, in the living room, the master bedroom and one of the guest bedrooms. The downstairs consists of an open floor plan, with a large living and dining area, and a spacious, well equipped kitchen, which features granite counter-tops and stainless steel appliances. The house has a/c along with a washer and dryer, and a gas grill off the dining room.

Our home is ideal for a couple, a family or a multi-generational group. Sutton Place is well maintained, beautifully landscaped and includes many wonderful amenities. One side of the development is on the Gulf of Mexico, with a private beach and beach pavilion, with showers and change rooms. A nightly ritual consists of gathering on the beach to watch the incredible sunsets and celebrate the end of another wonderful day.

The other side of Sutton Place is on Sarasota Bay, with a beautiful view of the bay itself, as well as the mangrove islands offshore. The view can be enjoyed from the bay side swimming pool, which is next to a small marina area, where owners keep their boats and kayaks,. There will be two kayaks available for you to enjoy the beauty of Sarasota Bay, and visit the mangrove islands, which are home to many species of southern birds and other wildlife. Dolphins and manatee are often spotted and sometimes swim right into the marina area. There are two large, heated swimming pools, one directly on the Bay and one almost across from our house, adjacent to the clubhouse and fitness rooms.

We often bike to the eight public tennis courts, which are a tenth of a mile from us. Two bikes will be available for you, to explore the area, on the bike lane, which runs the length of the island, and beyond.

Come to Longboat Key where you can be as active as you like to be,, or not. Life is good in our little corner of the world!

I am a partially retired librarian and my husband is a part time consultant in the medical device industry. Although originally from Canada, we now live in the Boston area, and have two grown children. We love to travel, but wanted a southern base to call home during those long winter months. We looked all over Florida and when we reached the Sarasota area, we knew we'd found our spot. We love the easy, laid back feeling in this part of Florida, on Longboat Key, but also appreciate being close to Sarasota, with all the wonderful cultural attractions, shopping and activities it has to offer.

When we found this townhouse, we knew our quest for a second home was over. The house itself meets our needs perfectly, as I am sure it will yours. We love the convenience of driving into our own garage, and walking into our own front door, and enjoy the privacy this arrangement provides.

We are big sports enthusiasts, and never run out of things to do. However, we also enjoy lazy afternoons on the beach, or by one of the pools, with a good book in hand. Having access to the beach on the Gulf of Mexico, as well as to Sarasota Bay, is a big plus for us. We hope that, like us, you too will share in the enjoyment of all that our home and this area has to offer.

Great location!!! Great amenities!!!

We very much enjoyed our stay at this townhouse. At one of the complex is a pool and the Sarasota Bay. On the other side of the street is the Gulf of Mexico. We could walk to both within minutes. Several sunsets were spectacular and people were very friendly. The house itself is extremely comfortable with three bedrooms and the kitchen is very well equipped. Beach chairs, umbrellas, bikes and kayaks were made available to us. Landlords were responsive and we plan to stay again next year and in the foreseeable future.
