About Kenneth P Lyons

Our family relocated back to Colorado in 2012 after a 15 year hiatus away from the state. Our goal from the outset in Colorado was to find a log cabin in the mountains for us and guests to share. We live in Golden and found this wonderful cabin location in Georgetown Colorado that shares our views of being outdoors, seeing the beautiful mountain settings and being around nature. Come share this experience with the Lyons Family.

Kenneth P Lyons purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Kenneth P Lyons chose Georgetown

Once you see the pictures and stay at the Rail Stop cabin you will understand our decision to buy here. Only 12 miles to 25 miles from 6 major Colorado ski areas (Loveland, Breckenridge, Winter Park, Keystone, Copper and Arapahoe Basin) and hiking, biking, railroad and mine tours, climbing, fishing, 4 wheeling etc just out the door it offers the Colorado outback getaway while being close to all the major attractions.

The Rail Stop Cabin maintains the rustic cabin look and feel with all the amenities you expect at a vacation cabin.

Well equipped cabin in a very unique location- had a great time watching the trains go by during the day and enjoying nature all around. Georgetown is a great little town and the cabin is located close to many fun things to do - we enjoyed hiking and rafting and the fun restaurants. The hosts provided so many nice touches including all the supplies and starter water, coffee, and some tasty local beverages. We had 4 in the cabin with room to spare- the place is larger than the pictures show! Would recommend to anyone considering this and wish all rentals and hosts were this accommodating and well prepared

Amazingly comfortable in every way

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is in the neatest spot near a creek, an old mine, and nestled within the cliffs and mountains all around. Only 2 min drive to downtown Georgetown, the location is great. The cabin itself was SOOO well-equiped, the owners thought of everything. Cozy, nicely decorated and perfectly clean. It was wonderful!!

Our home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

The Rail Stop Cabin was amazing. Just what our family of four needed. The views were spectacular and the town was quite and quant. Our preteen and teenager enjoyed the outdoors and took a break for technology, which was so nice! We drove to Winterpark -which was a beautiful drive to do some snowmobiling and tubing- the rest of the time was spent in the beautiful cabin. If you are looking for a secluded yet not far from reality this is your spot! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your cabin!

Home away from home!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Rail Stop Cabin! It was the perfect size for four adults. When we arrived, Ken had the fire going for us and music playing on the TV. It was a wonderful welcome! It was amply stocked with all the essentials. We made full use of the kitchen for many wonderful meals to eat while we watched the mule deer roam through the snow right outside our window. It was extremely comfortable and had every creature comfort we could think of. Our favorite thing was to sit by the fire in the mornings with our hot chocolate and watch the snow fall in the mountains. The view from every window was incredible! We cannot wait to get back to Colorado, and when we do, we want to stay at the Rail Stop Cabin!

Authentic ski cabin, close enough, but away from the crowds.

  • 5 of 5

We skied A-Basin and Loveland with the cabin as homebase. The kitchen had everything we needed. It was very comfortable for our family of four. We enjoyed being away from crowds next to the creek. We also opened the blinds and enjoyed watching the wildlife.
