so beautiful so peaceful so full of fun surroundings

  • 5 of 5

It was spotless and had all the amenities we needed. The creek/river gave the whole place a serene feeling. And we had fun within minutes every day.

Mostly good but the trains...

  • 4 of 5

The house reminded me so much of my grandmother’s house that I had to like it! Sloping floors - crooked in spots - strange nooks.

The setting was lovely - the back porch and yard overlooking the river was very pretty. Unfortunately the river was at flood stage due to the historic rainfall the area had received prior to our arrival so there was no fishing.

Once we got oriented, getting around was easy. We did learn that you can’t buy beer or wine at a grocery store, however.

I did not find the beds comfortable at all. Mine was very unforgiving and hard. And yes, the trains. So many trains at all hours of the night, sometimes back to back. I do think it is important to point out that the track is very close to the house and very heavily used. During the day, if we were on the porch, we had to pause our conversations because we couldn’t hear each other. At night, some of them rumbled the house.

The owner is very nice and incredibly helpful, however, and he obviously cares well for the property. While it was not peaceful and idyllic all of the time, it was a lovely spot close to everything we needed.

Anything relaxing week despite the central PA heatwave. This property is a perfect fit for our annual trip to visit family. Thank you again Lee

Great little spot, but....

  • 4 of 5

Awesome little house, great for fishing trips, or reliving the scene from My Cousin Vinny when the trains blows through at 4:30 am. There are 6 twin beds, so if you're looking for a family getaway and actually like your spouse, enjoy living the "Little House on the Prarie" life for your time here. It's a super clean house, has plenty of towels, and kitchenware. Needs more pillows though.. Awesome "off the grid" spot though!
